Nice to "meet" you!

Hello to all future moms and dads!

My dh and I have been ttc for two and a half years, the first year, of course, on our own. I've certainly had the run around from doctors on an official diagnosis but they've narrowed it down to endo and PCOS w/ only one fallopian tube. I've just had my second IUI on 4/27... and am sitting in the middle of my 2ww.

I've been doing TLOL "on my own" (with my dh, of course) for too long and I finally decided that I needed the company of other women who've been through or are going through the same things. I've appreciated the comments other people have posted immensely. Finally, I don't feel so alone.

Wink I'm new too!

Hello Everyone. I've finally decide to join one of these forums because this whole process is emotionally draining and I see that there is a lot of support. It's nice to know that there are other people out there who can sympathize with me.
My name is Tanya (29) and my DH James (29) has been diagnosed with high count and very low motility (not sure what the medical terminology is). We have been actively TTC #1 for 3+ yrs. We just completed our 1st round of IUI w/ Clomid and HCG injectibles. I'm now on CD #40 with no AF (my cycles is always 26 days). I have gotten 2 BFN HPT's and 1 BFN Beta on CD #30 (don't know what the count was, they didn't say). I'm scheduled to go for BETA #2 on 5/7.......
Good luck to everyone. I look forward to sharing stories and hopefully lots of 's in the near future.

New to IUI

We decided to try on our own this month. My husband thought artificial was rushing things a bit. I just had my day 14 ultrasound and absolutely NOTHING. I'm very frustrated. When can I induce my period? I feel like I have no control when am not taking medication, but I feel complete hormone range while on medication. I decided to start my first IUI next cycle. Hopefully, I can talk DH into it.

Newbie in NY

Hello. I a newbie too. I am 32 with Crohns Disease (autoimmune disease) on a lot of medication for that. This disease and my medications do not prevent me from getting pregnant, but complicate matters a lot.
My DH is 40 and has some MF issues.
We were trying naturally in 2006 while we were meeting with specialists to just make sure that I could carry a healthy baby to term.
We started with RE in march. All my tests look good (which is medical 1st for me) I had my 2nd IUI on 5/1 and I am awaiting AF. I usually spot for days before AF...and so I am awaiting "Spot" at this point.

To me...dissapointment is one thing...but, the 2WW and the analysis of every symptom and every twinge...could drive you to drink.
Sending good thoughts to all the other newbies.
I like to read all posts on all the TTC boards and imagine that all those women who were posting in '04 and '05 are now experiencing the sleepless nights with their babies.

still waiting

Hi Mikki
-I cannot answer you about the signs, because I have read into every sign and feeling I ave had for the last two weeks. I have felt crampy for the last week. The nurse at my RE office had said that some people do feel like they are getting AF when in fact they could be BFP.
Last month I went crazy because I started spotting 8dpiui..spotted for about 4 days and then counted CD1 which was about 12 days after the IUI. The nurse told me that it is normal to get AF 12-14 days after the HcG trigger which had been on cd12. A different nurse had told me that it is always 14 days after the trigger. It is enough to make you crazy. The told me the spotting could go away and I could be BFP...of course that was not the case.
Anyway...if I followed the same timeframe this month, I would have started spotting already. I am afraid to be TOO hopeful, because AF or spotting could show up at any point between now and Sunday.
However...when you feel those cramps, what else are you supposed to think.
I have a new acronym also..."FOW" which is "fear of wiping" Every time I go to the bacthroom I have to give myself a pep talk.
The 2WW SUCKS!

new to IUI

Hello. I am new here aswell. My brief history is listed below. I am annovulatory and DH's count is a little low. This is my 2nd month with injectables and have my 1st IUI on Monday (maybe). RE feels we can do it naturally but wants to speed up the process since we are being restationed in July. Im getting nervous about the IUI and trigger (this will be my 1st trigger too). Trying to stay positive....

Jillco: "FOW"....put a smile on my face. Great acronym!

Thumbs up

You should not feel nervous about the trigger and IUI. They are a walk in the park physcially compared to all the other stuff.
The worst part about the IUI is the spculum, and as woman, while we never get used to that thing, we certainly have grown accustomed to it.
I definitely had cramping for about 24-48 hours after. And spotting...that is normal.
GOOD LUCK!

Hello everyone. I am in the middle of my 2WW and as my signature shows I am going a little crazy. My DH and I have been TTC for about 18 months, but about five of those were off because of my uterine septum surgery. I admit I have been lurking for several weeks on this site and I love how everyone updates their signatures, it is so inspiring to see a BFP after all that we have gone through.

Thanks for including me.

Question

HI! well I had my first IUI last Friday. It was a little painful but not too bad. They said everything looked perfect, so I'm hoping it works. I know that the first time is not usually successful, but I still hope for it.
I have a question, today I was talking to a friend of mine who is a nurse and I told her about the IUI, she asked me if I had any symptoms...my IUI was only 5 days ago. Do symptoms show this soon? She asked me about breast tenderness or any different feelings. If this is the case...I can tell now that the IUI was not successful. Can anyone tell me if this is true?
Thank you
oh! Hopeful07 please let us know about your results. I really wish you the best!!

Chloita,

Just wanted to say to a group of a bunch of great ladies. I don't have an answer to your question however I am now 12 dpiui and I have been feeling sore bb's, nauseous (this only came this morning) and a bunch of cramping. The earliest I can test is not until Friday so i will let everyone know but I don't think that you can judge symptoms because everyone is different. Good Luck!

Has anyone gotten pregnant with low motility?

I had a Progesterone shot on Monday so I'm waiting for AF to start so I can go back on Clomid. I received my DH's SA results this week. His count was 73 mil, but his motility was only 25%. We plan on doing IUI this cycle. Has anyone gotten pregnant with IUI with a low motility? Also, there is a possibility that my husband will be out of town. Has anyone frozen their DH's sperm for an IUI?

Chloita, this is my 1st IUI. I am not testing until Sunday because my DH is out of town and I don't want to spoil it for him.

Trying4#2 - I am not sure about frozen sperm. My DH travels every week and I posed that to my RE but they said that they don't do that for IUI's. Also, I wouldn't worry so much about low motility because they will do a wash on an IUI cycle and get rid of the bad one's which cause the motility to become higher. His count is very high. Good Luck.
