I just joined today. My husband and I have been ttc for about 5 years. I did conceive naturally in 2005 and that ended in a miscarriage.

Hello!
I joined today and posted a note below, so I have copied my journey from the post below. This is our 32nd month TTC. I have uterine fibroids, a cyst & endometrios. I had a myomectomy to remove 3 fibroids 7 years ago and one fallopian tube was damaged (fibroid sitting on tube). My DH has low sperm count, motility, etc. We started going to Fertility Specialist late last year. He recommended IVF, but we have chosen to do IUI first. I took a break and actually started "treatment" last month.
The doctor put me on Femara on days 3 - 7. I have been using an electronic ovulation monitor for 2 years now and I ovulate every month. Last month, the kit did not pick up a peak surge (just high from day 12 or so to 20+ - my period). I am not sure if it was due to the Femara or me getting up a couple of days in a row to pee before the monitor said that I could (you can only use the monitor 3 hours before and 3 hours after). So the IUI did not take place last month. This month the dr has prescribed a trigger shot in addition to the Femara. |

Hi -
New to this forum - hoping this time works. We've been trying for about 1 1/2, not long for many of you, but seems long for us. We're going for our first IUI tomorrow. Good luck everyone. |

I'm new to the forum, been lurking for a little while. Most of my story is in my signature. It's good to see so many people banding together for a great support system in such a sometimes heartbreaking situation.

Hi I am New!
Hi Everyone!
I am new here and i am so glad to have found a forum just for fertility issues. I belong to a few other forums on line that have some fertility sections, but this is great! Hubby and I are 28 yrs old and have been married for 5 years ( together for 13). When i was 14 I have an ovarian Tumor that took 3/4 of my right ovary and was invasive into my right tube. They were hopeful that my right tube was saved, and patent, and that I may not have too much trouble TTC. We started trying for our daughter right after we got married, and no luck on our own. After one round of clomid- BINGO and our Daughter was born 9 mos later. We started trying again 1 year ago on our own, but no luck. I went on to 6 mos of clomid with no luck at all. I am about to start my first round of injectables ( bravelle to be exact)with IUI. I have never been monitored before, and i am very interested in knowing what a good E2 is, what a good size follicle is ect so that i am well informed for when i get my results.I look forward to getting to know all of you! Hope all of our stays are short here! |

introducing myself
Oh sorry i forgot 2 introduce myself. My name is Regan i'm 28 n my dh is 30. we've been ttc for 6yrs now. i'm currently taking my 4th round of clomid. i have no fertility problems but dh's morphology is terrible 1%-3%. they're makin me super fertile n hopes that it'll help make up 4 dh's poor sperm. have had 2 diff fertility docs...1st 1 never mentioned morphology issue at all n suggested IUI...2nd fertility doc is who told us bout the morphology n told us that pretty much our only chance of conceiving is via IVF. well, here n Atlanta IVF is $12,000 & we jus can't afford that right now. i would jus go ahead w/ the IUI but that 2 is way expensive here n ATL. ugh so frustrating!
have any of u ladies had luck w/ the IUI when it's a MIF problem? |

Intro
Hi There!
My name is Jessica. I'm from Alberta, Canada. And I'm new to this forum. I'm actually pretty new to forums in general so forgive my slowness and my lack of understanding all the acronyms and stuff.... My hubby and I have been TTC for over 1.5 years now. We went to see my reguarl OB/GYN and she did that stupid dye test (ouch!) and told me my fallopian tubes were both blocked and that she was referring me to the Fertility Clinic. She also mentioned that if they were blocked, the fertiliy clinic would remove them and IVF would be our only option! I was horrified! So we went to the Fertility Clinic where the doctor assured us that was not the case. And said he wanted to do some exploratory surgery to see what was wrong/going on etc... they said my fallopian tubes were healthy and I had a small cyst on my ovary - which was a good thing because that meant I actually ovulate. After testing my husband and finding some minor issues with him, and because I have some serious issues with my periods. My cycles last up to 55-60 days with a good 28 of them I bleed. HEAVY. They decided we were good candidates for IUI (they did a Swim-up test on my Hubby and some testing on me). So... We're embarking on our first IUI round starting yesterday actually. Day one of my cycle was yesterday. And I start taking clomid (2 pills per day for 5 days) tomorrow. After that I'm told my Hubby and I are to "make love" on the 9th of Sept, and then I'm to start pee'ing on a stick on the 10th of Sept to see when I'm ovulating. I have a couple of concerns... 1) I'm freaked out about the Clomid. I'm already a hormonal nightmare, I feel like I should be on lockdown probably if I start taking clomid. 2) I'm concerned that the Clomid won't make AF go away... As I mentioned above, my period lasts forever sometimes up to 3-4 weeks. Soooo If I start taking clomid on day 3 of my cycle, will it make AF go away by the 9th of Sept? 3) I'm just terrified it won't work. Or it'll work and I'll end up with octuplets. :| Any advice/support/stories/etc.. will help. Also, does the actual IUI procedure hurt? Thanks. -Jess |

Hi
HI,
My name is Stephanie, My story is a little different. I married my high school sweetheart, knowing that at age 16 he had to have both of his testicles removed. They were fibrotic and never developed into testies. I have had a regular cycle every 28-30 days since the age of 12. I am now thirty and my husband and I have been married for 8 years together for 13years. He is my one and only sexual partner. I was told by two OBGYN prior to marriage that it would be simple to purchase donor sperm and inseminate me by IUI. I took them at there word. I am now thirty and WANT to be pregnant. We have been trying for the past 9 months. 1st we had an HSG and everything looked great. We picked out a donor and Had an IUI with ultrasound for follicle timing with my regular OBGYN. Then we did it a second time Then we did a second HSG and again everything looked fine so we did a third IUI . My OBGYN then told me some women just can't get pregnant and referred me to an RE. My RE reviewed everything and suggested IUI with clomid and hcg trigger shot. OK. I am now on day 7 and getting ready for IUI number 3 with my RE. My 6th one all together. I am hopeful and frustrated at the same time. I am so Glad I found this sight. Steph |
