hi
Hello-
I am new here. My hubby and I have TTC for just over a year with a miscarrage in Jan '08. We are very blessed to have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. Did some testing and hubby's results were poor. He took it really hard. Never thought I would be in a fertility chat room venting... but here I am. I just had my mid-cycle ultrasound and will go back in 3 days (10/4) for my first IUI. Not extremely hopeful because we are doing a "natural cycle" w/o clomid. Hubby very anti-clomid. He doesn't want multiples. Well that's my story. Anyone else in similar situation? A buddy would be nice. Amy |

I joined today, seems like a great place for support!
I just had surgery to open tube since I only have one, and will be starting clomid 50mg in two days. If after 4 months we aren't pregnant we will have to go on to IVF.

hi everyone
hi i'm 30 yrs old, ttc for almost 3 yrs now. i was diagnosed with polycystic ovary and my DH sc showed low motility ct. Thats our problem. we had our first iui last sept 17,2008 and i have 1 dominant follicles on each ovaries so it's 2 and my DH motility ct was doubled post wash. our hopes were very high but unluckily i was having cramps and PMS since last week, i was in denial with all of those idea of maybe i will menstruate but instead i told myself with confidence that i am now pregnent... until this morning i have blood flow after 2weeks post iui. it was unsuccessful and i cried so hard. i can't bear the emotional pain.
my next step is to have my 2nd iui this month. i wont stop the fight because i want to have a baby. please uplift my spirit and give me some advice. ![]() |

Hi All - I'm a newbie to this site as well and although I've been only reading until this point, when I read wantingtohaveababy's and amylou's post (and others, of course), I just had to say hello.
here's my story: I'm 31 years old and about to start my first IUI in a few days. We've been ttc for about 2 years now and just recently found out that hubby's sperm has poor shape (~3.5% normal) so that explains our problem (I'm apparently normal). Our doc has suggested IUI and thinks it will work despite hubby's problem. I've been on 75iu of Puregon since CD 3 and had 1 u/s two days ago that said 2 follies looked promising, went back this morning and 1 is measuring at 21mm and 5 others are at around 14 - 16 mm, so they are going to trigger me in two days and inseminate 36 hours later. I'm currently sitting here at work trying to get something accomplished for the day, but I can't seem to concentrate at all. I keep trying to remain positive and think that I will be the lucky one who gets pregnant on the first try...but to be honest, I've never been so scared in all my life. I can't possibly imagine what life will be like if this doesn't work..and I know I'm not helping myself by thinking this way...but, it's so hard not to worry. Do you ever think the stress of worrying "if it will happen" really does impact on whether it will happen? I say a prayer each night that it will someday soon happen for me and my wonderful husband, and I always include a special prayer for all of you - to everyone who is in the same boat as me - that one day, we'll get to see what a looks like!take care, Krista |

I'm not really new to the board. I had my first IUI in June and found the board then, but I never found this thread so I thought I'd introduce myself now.
![]() My name is LaShawnda and I should be having my 2nd insemination next week. My reason for needing an IUI is "lesbian relationship, no male partner"...or at least that's how my RE put it on my paperwork. Lol. So...hello everyone, good luck and to all of us!

Just getting started
Hello everyone,
My name is Molly and I am currently undergoing all the fun involved with prepping for my first IUI, which I am guessing will be Friday am. My husband was dx with Ewings Sarcoma back in July of 2005, at which time he was advised to store sperm, due to the drugs that he would be receiving having a good chance of making him infertile. Fast forward to present, DH has been in remission since August of 2006 We were married in September of 2007, I went of BCP in December of 2007. We tried TTC naturally until August, when we had DH tested. They found no sperm. So, we began the process of finding out what we would need to do get ready for the IUI process. Because of the limited amount of sperm that is frozen, RE wanted to be sure that all was A-OK with me before proceeding. I had an HSG a few weeks ago, which showed no blockages and no potential problems with me. The b/w has all been normal. We are trying this first time with my natural cycle. I have a follie measuring 16.5 as of today, CD 20 (my cycles average 40 days). I suspect that I will be triggering with Ovidrel tonight, as the follie has only grown by .5 in the last 24 hours. This will mean that I will have my first IUI procedure on Friday morning. I am a bit nervous, as the HSG was extremely painful for me. I am hoping that the IUI will be a piece of cake compared to that! I look forward to chatting with you all and tapping into your knowledge of all of this. It can be a bit overwhelming at times. Best of luck to everyone for a ![]()

New here
Hi...
Had my 1st IUI, natural today. We had been trying for 1 year - got the green light to start IUI, then I had unrelated medical issues, one right after the other - so while I remain cautiously optomistic about success on the 1st try - I was just so happy to be startiong the process. Glad to have found u all. |
