Hi, I am new to this forum and have been reading a lot and thought it was time to start participating. I am 28 and DH is 34. We have been trying for almost 2 years. Husband has poor morphology, 6% and my HSG test showed possible scarring. I was preggs 3 years ago with X boyfriend and had abortion. Hard to think about now with all of this happening. I finally got the courage to se a RE first of May and we decided to try IUI this month. We did IUI on May 8th and I go for bloodwork on Wed. I have been POAS for 3 days straight and all
.. I am cramping like is coming but no signs of her yet. I normally have 28 day cycle but I took clomid day 5-9 so I don't know if this will delay things. I had a HCG trigger on day 14 and IUI on day 15, 24 hours later. I am upset that there have been on all my POAS but I wonder if it could be too early to tell. part of me is still hopeful. They tested my progesterone 1week past IUI and it was well above 40. does anyone know what that means? Thanks!!! |

Progesterone
They tested my progesterone 1week past IUI and it was well above 40. does anyone know what that means?
Thanks!!![/quote] Hi!well, I just got my progesterone results today (my 1 week after IUI was last Friday), the RE did not give me a number but he said it was high, he said that I just have to keep waiting...4 more days. My sister is a doctor and she explained to me that the progesterone levels are supposed to increase when you ovulate and if you do not get pregnant then they start decreasing. (I think I understood it right, forgive me if not). I did some research on the Internet, just to try to understand it better and I found this site: What are normal progesterone levels? I do not know if this is accurate or not, I'm just sharing with you something that I read today. Hope it helps! and lots of luck!!!!! Chloe |

Progesterone
It's my understanding that the Progesterone test is one of three tests to confirm that ovulation took place. My doctor also does an ultrasound to see if my lining changed and also checks for a corpus luteum. The corpus luteum produces progesterone until the placenta takes over. Also, a low progesterone level can put you at a high risk for miscarriage (which is why the prescribe the lovely progesterone suppositories).
Hope this makes sense. Your level looks great. Good luck with your test tomorrow. Speaking of progesterone, has anyone had a shot to induce a period? We decided to take a break this month before our first IUI, but I never ovulated. Since I never ovulated they decided to give me the shot last Monday (day 20). I'm concerned that it didn't work. What is the next step if the Progesterone shot didn't work?

I joined just today after reviewing some posts that really "hit home" that so many of us are experiencing the same feelings of hope and excitement mingled with frustration. It is hard not to obsess during every tww.
My husband (42) is the proud dad of two kids (22 and 19). My husband and I have been married for four years -- two years ago he received a reversal and we've been trying like crazy ever since. After one year, we went to an RE who did all prelim tests from b/w to HSG and got the "huh?" diagnosis (all clear, we don't know why you're not pregnant diagnosis). We thought maybe the stress was the problem and took a "break" for a year and planned a trip to Europe. No luck with that either (if one more person tells me to "relax".. . ). Now we're back to the RE and trying the medicated IUI's. Thank you to everyone for sharing their story. It's funny how much it helps!

Hello everyone. I've been reading through the posts and decided to register. I just turned 40 and decided to stop waiting for Mr. Right. I had my first DIUI on 05/17/07 and now I'm just waiting and hoping. I've done a couple of HPTs already (couldn't wait) but BFN, so far. Today is only 10 DPO, so I'm not too discouraged. I've had fairly consistent cramping since the IUI and just today started to have some transient feelings of nausea. I really feel like it worked, though I could be delusional.
Best of luck and to all! |

I just joined today and I have learned a lot. I have a feeling I will be visiting this site regularly!! I am 24, my DH and I have been together since I was 16 ~aww~ and we have been married for over 5 years. We also have a beautiful 5 year old daughter together! We married and started our family pretty young but since then we have had troubles getting pregnant with #2... In the past 7 months, I've been seeing an endocronologist who's prescribed Clomid to me and now, my current cycle I have started Bravelle and Menopur injections. I have had 2 IUI's in a row but was not able to do an IUI last cycle due to being on vacation. I may take another break from the IUI's this cycle too depending on how many follies I have.

Trying to conceive
My name is Sandi and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over two years. Finally went to the doc because things weren't happening "naturally" (I really hate that term now)..we have been going to the doc since September and found that I don't ovulate. Ever since then I have been taking clomid and now doing injections to try to make my follicles grow....I have learned more about the female anatomy than I ever wanted to know and now my husband has become an expert as well. I am currently on my fourth day for this cycle of injections with Menopur....this is our second month with injections and they just doubled my dose. We will find out on Friday if this month is working....after I finally ovulate they will then inseminate....we are keeping our fingers crossed that this time it will work...I am hoping to find people that are in similar situations.. Anybody have any advice??? Thanks..Sandi

Hey, all. I am a total newb in the sense I have never posted to a forum before. I was just drawn in by how friendly everyone seems here.DH and I have been TTC for a little over 2 years. After a miscarriage in March, I got frusterated enough to finally go to a specialist.
There I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was put on Clomid 100 mg w/ a hCG shot. I had a double IUI, 6-15 and 6-16. And now comes the waiting.... ![]()

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting a message. My husband and I have been trying for about 1 1/2 years and I have been taking Clomid for awhile. I been taking 100 mg for a few months now, but my doctor just told me that I have unexplained infertility and our next step is superovulation. I am nervous about the next step and was wondering if anyone can talk to me about their experiences. Thanks so much.
