Hi, everyone
I am new here. I have been trying to expand my family, the last 6 years and in that time my partner and i have been having unprotected you know. I have gotten pregnant once and we had a beautiful baby girl. That was about 4 years ago, 2 years ago I started to try again.
When we tried the first time I was to scared to go to the Dr, so we didn't. This time around I am trying everything. So we are going to try an IUI this month We hope this will work.

I am looking for support, because my family doesn't seem to have any for me. especially around the treatment issues and the drugs. I will not tell you what they say it will just piss you off. LOL

Thank God for this site! I've just joined and the amount of support and encouragement that pours out from everyone is just unbelievable. I'd love to be in the company of such courageous and wonderful women.

I'm just starting my first IUI cycle and we are trying for baby #2. I've had fertility issues after my appendix ruptured. 3 cycles of clomid have failed to make me ovulate. I've had a lap in December and we've taken the path of superovulation and IUI. Hope this is the answer to our prayers!

I wish everyone well and here's baby dust to all of you!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself! My husband and I have one little girl - from IUI who is 2.5 years old now.

We are trying IUI again and are not having a super great go of it (like we did the first time).

Anyway, I hope I can add something to the discussions and look forward to all the support I can give and receive.

Thanks!
Jenny

Hi everyone -

I've been checking in on the IUI section for a while now and thought I would introduce myself.

We are going to be having our first IUI with donor sperm during the week of February 23rd. I am excited, but also a little bit scared to get my hopes up. My RE said it could take up 4 to 6 tries to get pregnant using frozen donor sperm. I am hoping for beginner's luck as I am not looking forward to the monthly emotional roller coaster that comes with TTC. In a way it's been a nice break for the last 8 months knowing we couldn't get pregnant naturally...I'm now sort of fearful to dive back into those feelings of anxiety and excitement.

Good luck to you all!! we all get our soon!

2nd IUI done waiting for results

I am here, confused, nervous, you name it. My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years and I am 37 he is 36. I have 3 children from previous marriage; however, my husband has no children of his own. We are in the middle of a step parent adoption for him to adopt my youngest (3 years old), but of course we have to wait a year for it to be final. Sometimes I hate the courts. Anywho, enough about all that. Here goes with our plight.

Me - 37 - unexplained infertility with only 1 patent tube

Husband - 36 - great count, great motility

Nov 08 - Clomid challenge (hated the way it made me feel, I was a hormonal nutcase)
had one good follicle on the right side (patent side) so went ahead with 1st IUI
Dec 23 09 arrived

Had to skip that cycle due to holidays and doc was going to be out when I would need ultrasounds.

Jan 23 started Gonal-f 150 per day
scheduled for US - canx blizzard conditions
Doc called lowered does to 75 per day of gonal-f to make it through the weekend

2 Feb - US and bloodwork for estrogen levels
and trigger shot
3 Feb - 2nd IUI
estogen levels at 2000 but only had 3 maybe 4 follicles on right (patent) side and husband's count was 100m w/ 70% motility

Hoping for a

to all.. and baby dust too...

To all the wonderful women in this threat
My name is ana and I'm thrill to have found you! It feels relieving to find support here and be able to give some. We all seem to be talking the same emotional lang.
I'm 32 DH 39 married 1 1/2 and TTC 1. I might have endo but first trying iui. His morpho was low 3%.
Our 1st was last month and BFN (can't find those wonderful links you all use). We'll try this month another natural cycle before laparosc. If BFN our Dr wants to refer him to urologist.
I'll write again later!
Take care. I'm praying for all of us!

New to IUI

My DH and I have been trying for a few years now. I have a balanced translocation and that is the reason for my recurrent miscarriages. The genetic counselor gave us hope that we could conceive a child of our own.

This year DH and I are going to attempt our 1st IUI cycle. We are hoping that more than one egg will be fertilized and that at least one embryo will survive!

Good luck to all TTC in 2009! May this be the year for us all!

My name is Kim. I am 34 years old and DH (35) and I have just completed our 2nd cycle of IUI. I have been diganosed with PCOS and have had irregular cycles all of my adult life. My RE has me on Metformin to get me to ovulate. My cycle is usually 35 - 38 days. I have been on clomid 50 mg (day 5 -12) and getting HCG injections.

Welshgirl

Hi Welshgirl, you should introduce yourself in one of the threads where the girls had IUIs at the same time as you. I had my first IUI this month & it was great having other girls going through the 2ww at the same time... it's a real support (plus I learned heaps from others who have had several IUIs).

A few things my dr didn't tell me but the girls did:
1. if you test too early you can get a false positive (i tested 7dpo, got a positive and thought it was real!!)... this is obviously only a problem if they've given you medication / or a HCG trigger shot that causes a false positive

2. if you did get a trigger shot, you start getting all the symptoms of being pregnant... because the hormones have been put in your body.

When I got pregnant cramping was a good sign, but, I got cramping (just like pregnancy cramps) this month & it turned out to be caused by the shot.

Just thought I'd share to try to help you avoid some of the mistakes I made!!

Good luck!

Follistim and IUI

I am TTC 22, my husband is normal and me too. I guess we are going in the unexplained infertility group. We are both 32 years old. I tried clomid last year for 3 cycles but had not chance because it affected my linning... They changed me on Follistim and tried 1 IUI on MArch 2008 and .I end up to have a cyst. I had to stop.

I changed doctor and start again Follistim this month.
I started follistim 150 unit on day 3 and went for ultrasound on day 7. I have 4 follicules size 11,12,12 and 14. My linning was 5mm. I was happy with the results and they make me contnue 150 unit for 2 more days. I am going back tomorrow and hope my follicules will be >18 and linning> 7. How many had success with IUI. I just want to b pregnant. I am looking for support and good stories to help me to be less nervous...

Hello

Hi everyone...

Been ttc for over a year; ob/gyn sent me to RE b/c I am hypo-thyroid. My testing came out ok; DH has great sperm count but low motility.

ER recommended natural IUI as first step. Had my IUI on Feb 2nd...in the dreaded 2ww.

Beyond bloated and crampy...did do the HcG shot. Is this normal? Don't feel like wearing normal clothes, living in leggings and sweaters. Really want to work out and be normal, but just don't feel good.

Any good advice for getting through the next week??
