Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on this site for awhile. I'm encouraged by all the success stories and that the rest of us will get a soon!A little about me...I've been married for over 5 years now, we've finished school, have good jobs, a house, 2 cars, a dog...but no baby . We started seeing an RE in March 2009, after almost a year went by of every cycle, after a D&C. I've had my first (unmedicated) IUI a couple of weeks ago. I'm supposed to go in for a beta on 5/23, so .Take care!

Hello! I am new to this but have been reading others encouraging words for a few months now. I'm 30 and my husband is 39. We started trying on our own about 7 months ago. After 2 months, we went to see a fertility specialist. We had not so great post coital results and it was determined that we would have to go to IUI's. I have had 3 IUI's with no success. 2 weeks ago I had the endometrial biopsy and today I had HSG where it was discovered that I have "narrow tubes". Just once I would like to have results be optimistic, instead of "it's not great". We will do 3 more IUI's before we consider IVF. My IUI's are not medicated because I do ovulate. Is that normal? To make matters worse, my husbands testosterone is low! He starts clomid tomorrow. That only has a 50/50 chance of helping.
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for listening! |

Hello everyone.
Just found this area of the forum, so thought I would introduce myself here. I am currently in my 2ww after 1st iui on the 16th. I've never been pregnant and never have AF without the help of the BCP and therefore do not ovulate. This forum has been a fount of information and I appreciate the support that is so easily offered. Hugs to all

New Here
Hello everyone, my hubby and I have been trying for about a year. I had my first IUI on May 18th! I am on Clomid 200mg, Estridol, HCG shot, and Prometrium...
I feel like we are hitting a brick wall, They cannot find anything wrong with me, other than the fact that I have random periods. They don't know why we did not get pregnant the old fashion way....So here I am I wish all of you luck....I pray for all of you everyday! Christie ![]() |

Me too...
Well, that's what I thought anyway as I was reading many of the posts. A little about me...I am currently in the 2ww after my first IUI on 5/15. We had 3 follies and were told things looked great. DH had 35 million little guys so we were quite optimistic. I was placed on Estradiol because my lining was 7.8 and prometrium the day after IUI. We have had 2 previous m/c so we know we can conceive. Because this all sounded so great, we figured how can it fail. So now, I am reading every little sign (sore bbs, bigger bbs, some sharp pains in my lower side abdomen, occasional nausea) as a GREAT sign. I have my beta scheduled on 5/29 (14dpiui) but couldn't resist with all of the signs. I POAS this morning and got a BFN 11dpiui. I guess it could be too early but I am the biggest pessimist in the world and am now feeling down.
Any advice on POAS and timing? Anyone test BFN HPT around now and later had a BFP beta? Melissa ![]() |

I got a very faint bfp 12dpiui; I did not test before that.

Hi
Hi everyone. I just found this site and figured I would introduce myself. My DH and I have been ttc for over 2 years. No one can really tell us why we haven't been able to conceive. I have normal periods and my DH has plenty of little guys with great morphology.
I had my 1st IUI today after doing 2 rounds of clomid this cycle. For whatever reason it took FOREVER for me to have a mature follicle. Even on clomid I only had 1 on the right side ![]() I am now playing the waiting game for 2 weeks until I go for my blood test. So for now I am praying for a !! |

Hi from NJ!
Hi Everyone -
I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My husband I were ttc for about 2 years before we had a successful IUI last year. My daughter was born in November and I was told to return to infertility right away if I wanted to try for another child. We never really got a diagnosis (I hear that's pretty common) but my FSH was the suspected problem. My first month back at infertility was January and my FSH was 33. March it was 18 and in April it was 11 so we were a go for IVF. We just did egg retrieval yesterday, but the whole experience this time has been so overwhelming! I can use some encouragement, but since I've also gone through this before, I'm hoping I can also offer the encouragement! Good luck to all of us! |

Hi Everyone
My husband and I have been TTC for almost 4 years. We had four unsuccessful IUI's last year, and I went through many many tests. In January we started seeing a new Dr. and found out that the problem was with my husband. He has a low morphology. We just completed our 1st IUI with the new Dr. and got a BFN last Friday. We are now in the waiting period before we can start the home ovulation tests. We are sooooo frustrated.

Hello there,
I am new to all of this too and don't know what all these abreveations mean. I guess DH means husband!? We have been trying to conceive for almost one year. We lost a baby after nuchal scan was really looking bad a year ago. Anyways, we are getting checked out and my husband got a 5 on his sperm count. Dr. said a 20 was normal. When I dropped off the analysis I read instructions that he was supposed to abstain from sex for at least 1-2 days. We had sex both days prior to his dropping off his semen. Doctor never gave me any instructions! So , the doctor said to retest since we did not abstain before we gave the sample of semen. My question is...if we are having sex every day around ovulation then his sperm count is low no matter what... So if that is the case what are our options. I am looking good (tubes, FHS all great)...he has not had a blood test...is he supposed to? I am 36 and he is 40. Would insemination work?...what is " IVF/ICSI and a TESE?" I have heard of IVF but i suppose that is very pricey and we don't have a lot of money. Thanks , any advice would be helpful. Jen |

Everyone! This place has been such a great place to come to express my feelings and also to gather a ton of info.Jen ~ Theres a list of abbreviations (Acroynms) at the top of the page. The good news is you know you can conceive. Sorry about your mc. My DR said (prior to finding out DH low count) BD every other day until around ovulation then BD every day for a few days. It may have lowered his count some. But motility and morphology (% normal looking) are very important too. Word to the wise - read everything very carefully. Sometimes Drs dont tell us everything, they give out written info so you can read it call with questions and have something to refer back to. If anything it will save you money by not having to repeat tests. My RE (reproductive endocronologist) says he will do IUIs (intrauterine insemination) with 1 mil sperm or greater. 5 mil is low but its not horrible. And it may be a transient thing. RU seeing an RE or OB? I highly suggest an RE. Good luck!!
