My first IUI

im new to this so hello everyone. well i have been trying to conceive for about 3 years now. iv been a 5 cycle of clomid ,,and turns out my husband count isnt that great. and with my irregular cycle and me not ovulating my doc recommended IUI. so in about a month i start my first cycle with injectables. follistim and ovidrel. my insurince isnt covering 1 penny so its costing me about $5000 with the injectables so if this time doesnt work than im going to have to wait like 6months b4 i can try another. so hopefully in august ill have my long tyme waiting .b

Hello to All

Hey everybody. My name is Michele, I'm new to the board. I apologize now I'm not familiar with all the abbreviations I see posted (if there is someone that can give me a quick breakdown I would love it). Anyway, my husband and I have been TTC since the end of 2007...I'm 29 and he's 38, the doctors have figured out that my eggs are not mature enough to carry a pregnancy due to the fact I ovulate to early in my cycle. His s/a was ok but testosterone level a little below normal. He started on Clomid and I've been giving myself Lupron inj in the am and Gonal-F in the pm...I've been to the doctor every other day for the past 2 weeks and it seems that I'm just about ready for my HCG injection and my IUI either Friday or Saturday. I am that my first IUI will be a sucess but understand it might take a few tries. I'm glad to have found this board since all of my friends are very supportive, but have no clue what I'm going through since they seem to blink and are all preggers...I look forward to chatting and celebrating positive pregnancy tests with all of you.

Hello

Hello Eveyone My name is Theresa. Dh and have been ttc on and off for 3 years. And actively trying since June 2008. I got a on August 1st 2008. At 6 weeks there was no heartbeat. I had a blighted ovum "empty sac". I had a D&C on Septmber 2nd 2008. We just found out Dh has a ZERO sperm count So we are thinking about IUI with donor sperm.

new here

Hello everyone. My DH and I started TTC almost 7 years ago. My Ob/gyn had me on Clomid with no luck. He told me he didn't know why I wasn't getting pregnant. Instead of seeing a RE we chose to go the adoption route and adopted a beautiful baby boy, he is now 2. My g/f , after having many years of unexplained infertility told me about her RE. After many treatments she got pregnant with twins and delievered last year. My DH and I deceided to see her RE and fell in love with him. He has done so many tests and surgeries on me and is finally able to tell me what is wrong and how to fix it. I was diagnosed with PCOS with a blocked right tube. Had surgery last month to unblock the tube and is preparing to do IUI the begining of Aug. I will start Follistim in about 2 1/2 weeks and go from there. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

newbie...

Hi ladies!
I'm new to this board and the whole infertility thing. We have unexplained infertility-apparently my ovaries are beautiful-so our RE decided to go for a "middle-of-the-road" treatment. I start Clomid on cd3-7 (which should be soon!!) and then I'm having an IUI. She is concerned that with my "functioning" ovaries that I could get hyperstimulated. I get to spend about two weeks going back and forth from her office.
So here's what I would like to know: has anyone gone through OHSS? I know it's early to think about it, but I'm concerned about what might happen

We've been trying for about a year and a half and I would love to get through this whole process before school starts in September (I'm a full time student-hoping to become an elementary teacher). Granted I'm taking all online classes next semester, but school tends to stress me out just a bit

Good luck to all!

So good to be among our people....

I've been lurking on this board for a couple of months, mostly over in the donor egg area since we've been considering that as an answer to our issues. The main issue seems to be egg quality for us. I've had 2 (suspect 4) m/c and now have had difficulty conceiving.
We already had a failed IVF that turned into an IUI (BFN) and wanted to find a way to get some clarity about doing donor eggs as the next step.

We took at 2 week vacation and decided we'd go back to the beginning. If another HSG with Femera doesn't work, we'll feel like we've given it our last best shot and move on to donor eggs.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and wishing you all quick !!

New from Oregon

Well, after 8 years of ttc, 3 failed adoptions, and buckets full of tears, I finally got DH to agree to donor sperm. I think my emotional freak out finally got him to realize how important having another baby is to me. We are 37 almost 38 we have an amazing 10 year old who I swear we got pregnant on the way home from the church (wedding) with. After that, dh's sperm died. I mean nothing! We started infertility testing in California and have since moved to Oregon. I miss the infertility coverage Kaiser offered in Ca, but am okay with the 50% co pay here. We will be using donor sperm from Fairfax and then going to OHSU.
I don't really know a whole lot about treatments, I have been focused on adoption for so long. If anyone has some great advice to offer, I would love it. I'm a little scared and unsure. I just hope and pray it works. I want to be a mommy again so badly.

Hello All,

i joined today. Just like many out here, its getting to be a very emotional ride. Looking for support and information from the Forums.

On IUI #3. If I read between the lines correcly, I think RE thinks if this cycle does not work, we may have to proceed to DE- IVF.

I am not sure how I feel about it. Impulse reaction was : ok I can defy mother nature and get tall baby with tall donor A lil humor to get me through tough times.

But hoping for the best from present cycle.

Hello Angela,

Looks like my RE maybe suggesting donor eggs too, if this cycle fails. Was wondering what is a mock donor egg cycle?

Wishing you all the luck for a BFP soon.
