Smile Another newbie!

Hi everyone,

I'm about to start my first IUI cycle soon... arrived today so I have an appointment on Monday 23rd July for my baseline ultrasound. I'm excited but feeling nervous at the same time. Not sure what to expect and whether the physician will let us go ahead this cycle.

We've been TTC for 3yrs and so far no problems have been identified so we're in the 'unexplained' category. This is our first stage of treatment - up til now the doctors said we were statistically more likely to have a spontaneous pregnancy than to get pregnant with medical intervention...but now we've hit 3yrs enough is enough!

I'm so glad that this forum is here - it's such a help knowing that there's so many supportive people. I wish BFPs for everyone out there!!!!!

Anne.

Hi, I stumbled onto this sight a few days ago & joined immediately! My name is Jillian & DH & I started TTC in early 2001. After many BFN's month after month my OB sent us to 1 of the best docs on Long Island. Anyway, it took 6 IUI's & finally got a BFP! My daughter is now 4 1/2 and DH & I decided it was time to try for another. Tried on our own for several months, then went directly to the specialist again. Had my 1st IUI on 7/13 and am 2WW. All the signs are there, from what I can remember, but my body always plays tricks on me when I'm waiting for that positive result. All I can do is wait & .

Also, did anyone else get bloated/gain weight from taking Clomid?? I swear I gained like 6 pounds this month!

I am so thrilled & blessed to have found such a strong support group like this & look forward to hearing about all the 's.

Wishing you all the best

new to forum

hello all,
i just stumbled upon this forum.it is so nice to hear everyone's stories. my dh and i have been ttc for a year now. he is 36, i am 37. we just had our second iui two days ago after a round of femara. i am having some very bad cramping tonight. wondering if anyone had this (feels exactly like mentrual cramps). this waiting period is AWFUL and i can't sleep.

and to answer the above question-- i took clomid and gained weight too (10 pounds during 1 cycle). i didn't know that was a side effect when i took it. it has been very hard to lose the weight from it. i didn't have many side effects from the femara (just some bone pain in feet and hands that went away quickly).

anyway--i am glad i found this site and look forward to your posts!

Hi there,

I just joined today, although I have been reading all of your posts for a couple of weeks. You are all so supportive of each other that today I decided to join. Here's my story: DH and I are both 34, we have been TTC for 2 years, 3 months. I started infertility testing in September '06 and in April they found I had mild endo so RE suggested IUI, we did our first one last month but it failed. I didn't think it would be any different than all the other negatives I have been getting over the years, but it hit me a lot harder. Anyway, just did IUI #2 on 07/21 & 07/22 so am now in the 2ww. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Let's all pray together during our two ww!!

Today is 7dpiui for me and it is killing me. I am finding myself analyzing every little thing even though I told myself I would be laid back this time (I have a 7 year old son from IUI in 1999--we conceived him on second cycle of injectables w/IUI)--

I found myself looking up my old date book from when he was conceived to see if I am experiencing any of the same symptoms.-- My boobs hurt but that's about it-- I could say I'm tired, but I think I'm tired all the time!! We are getting ready to go see my in laws and my sister in law is and we aren't that close so I don't even want to see her ( I know that's bad). AFter we leave my in laws, we'll be going to myrtle beach in SC and then either or so who knows which it will be. UGH!

Any body else in the wait period? By the way, last time, my doc only did one IUI 38 hrs after HCG trigger. This time, doc did one 18 hrs after HCG (7/18) and another 36 hrs after HCG (7/18). IS this standard?

Thanks for your help guys!! Much to everyone!!

Hi I am new, just wanted to know about your experiences with IUI, I will be having mine (hopefully) next cycle. Nervous about it, also my Insurance does not cover any of my treatments and each IUI will cost me $ 800/-, anything I can do with Insurance company to help me.
My policy is Good Health Life Style policy, that says infertility not covered!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been lurking for a couple of months and I’ve finally found the courage to introduce myself. DH and I have been TTC for what seems like forever (4 + years). We started with two unmediated IUI’s with no luck. Third time added Clomid, but I had an irreversible side effect and the stress from that I went on a 3 year break. After making it through some tough times (marriage wise), we started trying again in June. Follistim with 2x IUI’s. BFN. Took July off, and start again today with Follistim.

Samia, my insurance doesn't cover this time around either. But my IUI's cost $175 each, lab is approx. $150 (DH's specimen for IUI). And I live on Long Island where everything is ridiculously $$$$. My RE's office also offer's assistance for some patients. But see if you can work out some kind of payment plan, because that's a lot of $ for 1 IUI. Insurance companies won't change policy. I used to work in employee benefits & it is what it is. Sorry. I hope you won't have to do many IUI's & have success early on! Good luck with everything!
