Follistim Injections + IUI
Hi Everyone,
This is my second time posting here (first was the self presentation)! I think this is a great support environment for all of us, I feel like its a great place for me to be! My husband and I are going in for IUI #3 on tomorrow, Saturday the 17th, and I'm kind of lost, not knowing if I should put a lot of expectations on it. The first two times, I was not taking any meds, so this time I'm really hoping will be the TIME! On Wesdenay, my doctor did an ultrasound and saw one follicule that was 16mm and two smallers ones. He told me to have another 75un of Follistim and had the injection to trigger ovulation Thursday night. My IUI is schedule for 9:30 am...tomorrow! Please have me in your thoughts!! You are all in my prayers, since I always pray for those trying to conceive just like me! Anyways, I just wanted to say hello, wish good luck to all....and ask for replies of anyone that is going through the same kind of treatment or that can help me!!!! Best wishes to all!

Good Luck tomorrow Adriana!!! It sounds like you are good to go with the u/s and b/w results. I'll definitely pray this is your time!!!
I too used Follistim last cycle. The 1st was with Gonal-F, but I had a better response to Follistim. for a !!

I'm so excited with the fast response! thank you girls for your replies! I'm feeling the good vibes!
 Foxxy, you got pregnant with Follistim?? How much did you get? I got 75un for 6 days! I got excited about yhe chances of having twins, but since only one follicule was 16mm on Wed. I think I won't have more than one good one! I so excited to know that you are pregnant! Someone out there that receive the blessing!!! I am really happy to be in this forum!! Thank you!!!

I had a great response to Follumtism I was on 75iu a day for 7 days then IUI. It worked! First treatment in 3 years!

I used Follistim with my 1st IUI and it worked! I was on it for 13 days. I went from 75iu to 125iu over that course of time. I ended up with 1 good size follie and a bunch of small ones. It worked though so there is lots of hope. Good luck today and I'm praying you get your BFP!!!

it sounds like you have wonderful size follies, my RE considers anything over 17mm a mature follie and then the trigger shot. It sounds like you have one great follie. I have been on follistim for 3 rounds and have not gotten pregnant yet, but have reacted well to the meds, so I am hopeful. I hope that everything goes well and that you get your BFP!

I was on Follistim for a few days (maybe 6-7) and then switched to low dosage HCG (another 6-7 days) because my follies were not maturing. My Follistim dose varied from 125 to 75 units also. My doctor told us that the chances of sucess can vary from 20 to 40% per cycle using Follistim. Of course that will vary according to your age and the medical hystory. I hope your IUI will be a sucess. I will keep you in my thoughts. GOOD LUCK!

No worries about you 16mm follie, they grow 2mm every day. I was on it for 6 days.

News about IUI
I tryied to post a reply here earlier and I don't know where it went. I'm still learning how to post and all!
Anyways, the IUI went very well. It was the least paintful IUI I had so far. The nurse said DH's swimmers were about 48 million and had 85% motility. We are hoping for a in two weeks. Anyone out there that has a tip to make these days go faster? Well, my doctor told me to use the vaginal progesterone pills until I do a HPT. I will start them tomorrow! I will keep in touch with any news and will also keep looking for new threads. I've learned so much from all your experiences, I want to of help as well! God bless you all!

Amadison, You said you did not have a lot of side effects? I had the whole list of them. Headaches, stomachaches, dizziness...and now...my breats are so SOREEEEE... Since I just had my IUI two days ago...it is obvously a side effect and not a sign of pregnancy (i wish it was). good luck on you IUI today!! I will have you in my thoughts!! Hope you get soon!!!
