IUI in May!
YAY! I finally get to do IUI. By the time it's time to do the actual insemination it will be May. I introduced myself in the "introduce yourself" thread, but I guess I will just give a quick background. I'm Marianne (23), DH is Michael (24), We have been ttc for 20 months. I have PCOS, I was diagnosed in August '07. I started clomid in January of this year which did make me O, but resulted in
 . When I went back for my cd3 u/s to get started on round 2, a fibroid was found and I had to have surgery to remove it and correct my uterine septum. So that put me off a couple months, but now I'm back on clomid (today is day2 on clomid) and more than ready to get on with the long awaited IUI! Of course I don't know the actual date of the IUI because it depends on when I have an 18mm or larger follicle. I have my first 3 appointments set up for u/s and I am so excited for all of this! I'm really hoping there's more of you out there who are doing this in May so I can share the experience with you. I've never done IUI before. If any of you have I would love to hear about your previous experience. Sorry for the long post. Hopefully someone joins me here soon.

Me: 33 PCOS Dh: 32; low motility 1st IUI with RE: May 2005 Gonal F and ovidrel DS: 2 years old and my sweet boy! 1st IUI 10/07 gonal f and ovidrel 2nd IUI 12/07 gonal f and ovidrel but was bleeding. Turned out to be either ectopic or an abnormal pregnancy...  3rd IUI 3/28/08 gonal f and ovidrel Started gonal f injections 5/15 IUI on 5/26 6/9 -  1st Beta - 86 2nd Beta - 247 3rd Beta - 1,179 4th Beta - 2,799 U/S on 6/20 - saw one sac! U/S on 7/3 - heard hb 162! U/S on 7/31 - saw lots of movement  NT Scan on 8/4 - hb 175! Ob appt 8/28 - everything looks good! Anatomy scan 9/25 - still looking good!

 Marianne! I think you could gain a lot of information about IUIs and the process by reading the threads from the various IUI weeks. Someone usually starts a thread that says something like "IUIs 5/4-5/9," and then the people having their IUIs that week join in and support eachother through the cycle. When you find out in which week you think you're having it, you can start or join one of those threads. In the meantime, use the forum to ask any questions you have and people who have been through the process will be glad to help! Good luck to you  !

Thank you all for the welcomes! I've been checking out the different threads, I just thought it would be fun to get to know some people who might be joining me in May since I don't know the actual date yet and most people having IUI in May probably aren't sure of the exact date yet either. I just can't wait until my IUI! I'm so excited and so nervous and just really hoping that I'm lucky enough to have it work on the 1st try. But on the same note, I am prepared that it might take a few tries.

Successful IUI w/ Follistim first time Jan. 2004 Had my boy Sept 2004! (he was one month early) Going for it again July 2008! Follistim 300 5,000 HCG 7/14/08 IUI 7/15 IUI 7/16 Prometrium twice a day (yack!) POAS 7/28 & 7/29 and got both days Bloodwork 7/30 Beta 104 Bloodwork 8/1 Beta 248 Bloodwork 8/7 Beta 2,248 Pg 228 u/s 8/14/08: one flickering heartbeat - so sweet! 8/14/08 Beta just over 13,000 progesturone dropped a bit but still in the 160's u/s 8/21 one baby confirmed  9/4 first ob/gyn appointment everything looks good! 9/25 last day for this icky prometrium! 10/21 amnio due to wonky nt results 10/22 amnio (fish results) came back, all is well!! It's a boy!! 10/24 regular appointment 11/20 level 2 ultrasound edd: 4/8/09 (it will be c-section due to past pregnancy, diabetes and high blood pressure)

Looks like based on the BC pills i am using to shrink my cyst that i will be on CD1 round about the 5th, so i will be close.. Maybe B2B IUIs around the 15th.. cant wait..

well I wish u luck on that...I'm new here too... I'm squedule to start fertility shots in 2 weeks for the first time...I was on clomid during 3 cycles increasing the dose each time but it didnt work at all... now after the regualr shots (is going to be between 5 and 10, it all depends on the prress) to make my eggs mature and then when they r ready they will give me a trigger shot to make me ovulate, at that point they will do the IUI to increase my chances of getting pregnant. For now I'm wating on my meds to arrive (they are coming from London since we found them a lot cheaper back there) to take the madications to make my period come because it doesnt comes by it self. So luck to you and wish me luck as well.

Hi Ladies,
It looks like I will also be having my first IUI at the end of May. My HSG is next week and up to now everything has been normal, except for my progesterone being a little low. Oh, I am soo excited to have a few of you to share this experience with. DH and I are beyond ready. My own doctor is doing my HSG, will she tell me then if they are going to put me on meds or will she wait until we have our appt on May 7th?? Any ideas out there?? Please keep me posted on how you ladies do....

everyone! I'm glad there are so many of you to share this with. I should be doing the IUI in either the 1st or 2nd week of May! I can't wait! Is anyone else doing their IUI with clomid? I am taking clomid and then I just keep going for u/s until I have a follicle that's 18mm or larger, then I will get the hcg shot that same day and the next day I will do IUI.
