Hello everyone reading this... i was on clomid for six tries with no luck, now i am on letrozole. Is there anyone out there that has been on clomid that didnt work for them but the letrozole did? I need some hope!

there are tons of ladies who got PG on femara that had no luck with clomid. clomid causes more trouble than it is worth IMO.

your BFP is probably right around the corner!!

Kaya-I was on Clomid, but then my RE changed to Letrozole (Femara). It worked for me as you can see in my signature.

I did 10 rounds of Clomis back in 2004-2005. All BFNs. Just did my first round of Letrozole and got a BFP. So, it worked much better for me. No side effects, no hostile CM, and produced just one large follie.....but that's all ya need. Good Luck!

I did a few cycles with clomid and didin't even respond to the medication. My RE put me on femara and I got my BFP. Good luck.

I will be starting my first round of letrozole this month as well. I had two rounds of unmonitored clomid cycles and 2 canceled ijectable clycles (bc I produce too many follicles..due to PCOS) so I hope this works for me!

I had a terrible time with clomid. I failed to respond to 50 or 100 mg. Although I did O on 150 mg it was late and very painful.

I will be starting Femara this month. Actually in 3 days.

What I would like to know, is what doses have you ladies taken and on what days?

My RE only has me on 2.5 mg days 3-7.... and I am nervous that it won't be enough to get me to O. I am also on metformin, whereas with the clomid I was not. (Ironically I managed to get preggo on just the met last time, but it is not working this time round.)

I also failed on 4 cycles of Clomid, plus it made be super crabby! I will be starting my first cycle of Letrozole next month! I've heard a lot of positive results from people so I am really excited. I am also starting with a new RE at a different clinic so hopefully this will go well. My RE is going to start me on Letrozole 5mg days 3-7. Also waiting for results on DH's SA.

I'm in the same boat. I did not respond to Clomid AT ALL. We actually conceived naturally this summer, only to end ectopic. I did 1 month of Letrozole combined with IUI back in April, BFN. Decided to try Letrozole this month by itself...RE doesn't think IUI will really help us. It makes me hopeful to see all the success stories on here about this drug. We had a rock star month in regards to BD, probably our best yet. Hoping it was good enough!

This is my 1st time taking Femara 2.5mg 1 pill on CD3-7. I was diagnosed back in '96 with PCOS, but since 2007 have had somewhat of a regular cycle on my own without anything to start it. I have tried Clomid so many times throughout the years, but it finally worked for me as far as ovulating last year, but I never got a . I ovulate on my own as well, so I wanted to know, does anyone already ovulating on their own and taking Femara too have any success?

I went this morning for my baseline ultrasound. One ovary had 11 follicles and the other had 9 follicles. I have had 2 unmedicated IUIs that weren't successful. My RE put me on Letrozole 2.5 mg for cycle days 3-7. I am also be taking 150 units of Menopur Injection on CD 8. I will go in on CD 11 (1-19-09) for another ultrasound. I am praying this cycle will be successful! If anyone has any advice or any experience with these medications, please share them.

I ov, on my own, but every once and a while i don't.
I am taking letrozole 2.5 day 3-5. I had my first failed IUI, in Feb. Though I usually ov around day 16, with Letozole I ov on day 12, which I started to test with my opks on that day, i called and got in on the 13th, my LH-is 16 days and i counted when I got my period and it LH was 15, sooooo it means I was a day late I had already ov when I had my IUI.

My advice with this drug if your using OPKs, start testing around day 9 or 10.

Hello ladies... I have been TTC for 2 1/2 years now. I have a beautiful baby girl named kylie who is 4 yrs old. When she turned 2 my hubby and i decided it was time for another... it only took us 4 months to get preggo with her so we had no worries. Well that was back in December of 2006. Needless to say since that time I have had 2 unsuccessful IUI's... been on and off with clomide for almost a year and still no luck. My doctor just started me on Femara yesterday.. it was day 1 of my cycle. I am really starting to get baby crazy. I feel like everywhere i look someone is pregnant and also of close friends and family are curently pregnant so things are hard to say the least. I have read good and bad things about Femara but am really hoping this is the answers to all my prayers. Reading all the stories on here makes me hopeful. i wish everyone the best!
