A few mo. ago at my cd3 ultrasound I ended up with 33x45mm follicular cyst on (L) ovary (again) from Femera. So md put me back on birth control pills to see if it would go down. I went back on cd 24 for another US, the cyst was down to 13x8mm so md said that was small enough that we could work around it. So he told me to stop birthcontrol and start femera 7.5mg cd 3-7 when cycle started. I started my period the next day. Then on cd 14 went in for ultrasound and I had 3 follicles 30x33,21x24 &14x19 (L) (or I'm sure one of them was the old cyst.)
Anyway I triggered that day . 12 days post O got a big fat +, then on cd 29 there were 2 cysts on (L) 23mm & 30mm. (This ended in a misscarriage(not bc of cysts),but I'm ok at least I know that I can make it happen)
I just have a few questions before I start this rollercoaster ride again!

1. Does anyone else's md use birthcontrol pills to kind of controll the cycle? Is this even considered a real cycle, sometimes I stop the pills at 2 weeks or 21 days? I'm never on them long enough to even finish a whole pack.
2. How can they tell if a follicle is a cyst and not really a follicle? Do u think the "cyst" I had on cd 3 that was 13x8 was really a cyst?
3. And last question which follicle do you think was the one that matured at caused conception?

I was diagnosed with a cyst on CD 5 this past Monday. I stopped the femara and I am taking Birthcontrol 2 pills (double dose) each evening for 10 days. Then I stop at 10 days, and when my period starts I call the office. They said they will do another ultrasound and hopefully start a new cycle. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your other questions yet but I should know more next weekend what happens with me.

I was just wondering what happened to you this cycle. Did your cyst go away? Get small enough to take femera again? just wondering your MD's protocol

Hi,

They diagnosed the cyst on 12/15, estrogen level was 50 (should be under 20) which meant it was an active cyst. I started Birth Control that evening. Two pills each evening. I took them for ten days. Then had to wait for my period. Went in on day 2, yesterday for U/S. The cyst was 34 and went down to 24. I had another cyst that was 10 by 8. DH and I were thinking this wasn't enough to proceed but the estrogen levels were less than 20 so they said we can go ahead. Yeah.

I also found out that the reason I wasn't feeling well was that my thyroid level dropped so I was significantly hypothyroid. They only did this test because I asked.

I am happy to start a new cycle but not so excited this time after the cyst. It has taken a little bit of a toll on me. The BC high dose made me sick.

My office calls any fluid filled sack a cyst irregardless of size. I asked if it was linked to the treatments and two different nurses said it isn't.

How are you doing Ryanmom2? Where are you at in your cycle?

I'm currently taking this cycle off!! I'm just relaxing!!!I think my body needed a little time off But I will be going back on Femera probably next cycle, in a few weeks. Hope I'm cyst free. Did the MD mention that your current cysts could get bigger with this cycle of femera. Mine didn't mention it but I think thats what caused mine to get a little bigger.
