Hello to Everyone! This is my first post although I have been reading everyone else's post and they have helped a lot! I have been trying to concieve for two years now with no luck. First I had to take provera to start a period. Now my dr has put me on letrezole 2.5 for days 3-7. That's it. I was wondering if anyone had success with letrezole by itself with out any other meds or iui's etc??

I did clomid first with nothing else. Letrezole is more gentle with your body than clomid. Good luck.

I don't have a ton of experience with Letrozole, but I was on it this past month. We were doing our last IUI (we have low sperm count). So even though I ovulate on my own, we decided to try Letrozole to see if we could get a couple of extra eggs. My RE prefers it over clomid because she has seen lining problems in women that use clomid.

Letrozole was great for me. I had 4 follicles that all got over 19mm. 3 of the 4 follicles released eggs. So we were very happy about that. Plus, I had very little side affects. The only thing I noticed was a few hot flashes

I'm still in the 2WW so I'll let you know if it worked. Say a prayer for us! I hope that this info helps and I hope that Letrozole works for you. Some women it works great, other women do a little better on clomid. It is all kinda trial and error to see what works for you body. GOOD LUCK!

Hey there- As you can see from my signature- we went through several IUIs- my 1st 2 with Chlomid, IVF, and FET and finally used Femara/Letro and got a . My DH were the lowest they have been and we still got a BFP! My only side effect while on it was severe headaches and for some reason- I ovulated really late- day 20/21. I did have to use an Ovidrell as a trigger other than that and Prometrium 3 days after the IUI (progesterone)

Clomid did nothing for me. All three times I conceived were with Letrazole.

I am in a similar situation to you. My cycles average 40 days and I haven't been ovulating. 6 rounds of clomid didn't do anything for me and this is my first round of femara. I go in on the 18th check my fsh levels. I hope you all get success with your rounds!

Hi my name it latara my hubby and I have been TTC since 2004 we where diagnosed with PCOS( big upset all I ever wanted was to be a mother) my mother and sister had problems with their first pregnancy but they still had kids. But poor me I got the worst of everything in life, we have tried clomid "failed" twice and I recently moved to phila and found a clinical trail for pcos and joined we are in a blind study so we don't know what we are taking but I don't think it's clomid because it feels different. Well I have just completed my first cycle of the meds Friday we go for our appointment with the doctor (she's great) I nervous because we're young I'm 22yr old hubbies 25yr old and I don't want to keep taking all of these different med I am scared it will through my body off. And I won't be able to have my angels of joy! Clomid made me sick and achy but this medicine I just felt some things but for the most part normal . I will fill u in on friday !! But how long does it take for letrozole to work and clomid!!

Hi I have been on letrozole for the past 2 months...I am finding in much better than clomid...symptoms wise....however, I did achieve a pregnancy in December with clomid which later led to a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I have heard some good things about letrozole, however, my doctor told me both meds are pretty much the same so hopefully it works for you and me both.....good luck!

I am taking Femara. I started with 2.5 mg in June. I never even ovulated on it! Booo! I just finished my last Provera pill yesterday. I will be taking 5mg this time.

Well I have had semi-success with Letrazole I suppose.

Over the past 3.5 years, I tried 3 rounds Clomid (too moody, bad CM), 3 times Follistim, IUI's without any drugs, trying natural with acupuncture for a year, and then This year I have tried Letrazole 3 times and got pregnant 2 out of 3 of those times.

So the bad news is I have had miscarriages which were early pre 6 weeks.

The good news is I had never had a + pregnancy test prior. The other good news, there's relatively little side effects for me. Maybe a little moody and headachey for a day or two but it moves out of your system quickly.

I have noticed it does not affect my CM at all, it helped alleviate some of my midcycle bleeding which I'd had previously, keeps my cycles on the shorter end (which means we get to try again in a shorter time), and with the Ovidrel booster I get such serious cramps I know exactly when I am ovulating which helps with timing a lot.
