CD 4-8 Femara??? Anyone??

Hi there,

I am doing my 4th IUI with femara. I live in the NYC area and I was told by the nurse that I could wait until CD 4 to come in for the usual baseline stuff to save a trip into the city (there are 2 branches). I stressed that I needed a refill and she said it was fine.

So, today, I went in for the U/S and had only 1 follie that was starting to dominate at an 11mm. Lining was already at 7. In the past, starting on CD 2 I have had 3 follies on the femara by CD 9 and now I'm worried that I won't have multiple follies! I do not recall if there were some baby ones hanging around today since I was so focused on the dominant one.

This is our last IUI and we are feeling pretty relaxed about it since we are kind of just doing it to "pass the time" while waiting for IVF. I am paying out of pocket though, so I don't want it to be a waste.

Has anyone taken femara with no other meds starting CD4? I am taking 5.0 mg.

Thanks!

Hi there slyfoxy! I just wrote you on the Sept IUI thread too!

I really hope that you can get your BFP naturally this month. I will keep you in my thoughts. You are a remarkably strong woman and have such a great attitude considering how long it's been for you and you deserve ALL THE BEST!

Well I got an answer to my question. Starting on day 4 seemed to change things. I had an u/s on 10/14 and had 2 bigger follies that the RE seemed to think would make it and 2 smaller ones. In the past, I had 2 bigger ones and one smaller one. Hopefully the little baby ones grew. My lining is also thicker, which I am very happy about. The weird thing is that the lead follie was smaller on day #13 than it has been on day #9 or 10. So, I hope it is big enough!
