Low E2 Levels from Femara
Has anyone been taking Femara & had low E2 (estradoil) levels?
I'm scheduled for an IUI tommarrow & my E2 level was 99. Last month it was 194. They did increase my Femara from 2.5 mg to 5 mg. Just curious is anyone else out there had this happen & got a BFP.

My Doc said that you need an E2 of at least 250 for the follie to be good. I too had a low E2 with Femara. My mid phase was a 20 so my Doc said that Femara would not work for me at all. With my clomid cycles the highest I ever got was a 100 and had no mature follies so I am sorry I cannot really help with you question since I never really got that far. it is high enough though that you are not wasting your money on the IUI.

I had high E2 levels to begin with. That is part of the reason why my RE switched me from Clomid to Femara. He said it should lower my E2 and I should have less side effects. That's exactly what it did! Is there a reason why your RE put you on Femara instead of Clomid?

Well, I tried Clomid for three months and I didn't even ovulate. So, my RE wanted to try the Femara & I have ovulated & had two good follicles. Alot less side effects too.

debbie- I'm currently in the 2WW for a femara+menopur IUI. I had a 21mm follie on day 11 and my E2 was only 22. I asked about the low E2 and the Dr. said that Femara does lower estrogen so it wasn't a concern. They triggered me that day and did the IUI the next. It made me wonder, why bother with the bloodwork anyway if the E2 levels can be skewed.
I don't know what my baseline E2 was though when I started this cycle so maybe that would make a difference?? |
