Crob: I just have to put in a vote for Ryan. That is my DH's name and I just love it. Actually it is his middle name but what everyone calls him. I was looking at a baby name app for my iphone the other day and saw the name Cale pop up and thought of you.

Howdy to Amy and Aida, Kris, Naomi, Mille and everyone else. Hope you preggolicious ladies area all doing well.

Mille--glad that your stroller arrived! Do you have everything that you need?

Crob--I think that names are hard! We didn't know the gender of our babies ahead of time and had several boys' names and several girls' names that we liked. We waited to meet the babies before deciding what their names should be. I like Cale, though... It's different without being weird. Ryan is a great boy's name too. I'm sure that you and DH will find the perfect name for your little boy.

Kris--I don't think that Reed is girly at all! Aiden is a really popular boys' name here (in MD). Our older daughter had 3 Aidens in her gym class when she was two. DH and I joke that the new popular names are all "dens"--Aiden, Brayden, Jaden, Hayden.... In terms of girls' names, Sophia, Ava, Emma, Emily, and Grace are big...

Amy--not sure what to advise about Aida's nursing schedule. I nurse on demand and also stop when Annelise unlatches... Have you checked the Kelly Mom or LLL websites for more info? Is there an LC in your area that you could call?

We had a fun Halloween here... Our older DD (almost 4) is just the right age for it! She kept a few pieces of candy and traded the rest in for a toy: win-win! Our social worker is coming today at 4:00 to update our adoption home study. We're submitting our paperwork next month for the placement list!

How's everyone holding up during flu season? No H1N1 in this house, though there are hundreds of cases in our area... Ugh.

Hi Everyone!
Its been a long time since I posted. I finally am feeling better and starting to enjoy this pregnancy! I have what they call hypermesis, which is extreme vomiting during pregnancy. It is pretty uncommon and of course I ended up with it! I will have to continue to wear a pump that provide me with antivomiting medication at least for another month or so ( I am going on 18 weeks this wed!)

I do have a nice little bump though, despite the 15 pounds I lost during my first trimester!

Well enough about me..... I was so excited to catch up on all your news and hopefully will be able to get on and post more often. Even though I am not on here often, I think of you all often and remember all the wonderful support you have all given me through this whole process. xoxoxo

Laura - So good to see you...I was fearing you were still sick. I'm so sorry that's been the case. I hope you do start feeling better soon and can really enjoy being pregnant. Will you be finding out if you're having a boy or a girl soon or are you planning on being surprised when he or she arrives?

We are planning on being surprised, however we go for the big 20 week scan in a few weeks and I know that is when they can tell you so I am going to have to make sure the tech keeps our secret!!!!

How are you doing?

Laura - You've got willpower to wait for a surprise! That's cool though. My DH kind of wanted to wait too, but we ultimately decided we wanted to know. Our u/s tech asked us at the start if we wanted to know so I think they are pretty good about it. However, my DH's cousin's wife had her u/s the day after ours and they aren't planning on finding out but their u/s tech kept referring to the baby as "he" and "him." So we think they might be having a little boy too, but no one knows for sure. They are due the day before us so it will be fun to have two new babies in the family that are the same age and hopefully the same gender

I'm feeling pretty good other than sleep deprivation...I just can't seem to get comfy in bed...or anywhere for that matter. It's all worth it though

Laura - I think you win the prize for worst pregnancy! I will predict you are having a girl due to the old wives' tale that if you have a terrible pregnancy it's a girl bc girls "steal their mother's beauty". Glad you are starting to feel better.

kris - I can't sleep comfortably either. And whenever I turn in bed it's this huge production lifting my giant belly and then trying to resituate myself. These days I am most comfortable sitting on our hard wooden kitchen chairs - even our couch doesn't work well for me anymore.

amy - hope you are resolving the aida feeding issues - any update?

CQ - we are not even close to being ready for this baby! I'm having a shower next weekend and one the week after so we figured we'd wait till after the showers to buy whatever we need. Hopefully we won't be cutting it too close.

AFM - DH just got back from a week in his hometown to see his friends and family - his last hoorah before becoming a dad, I guess. It was also his gramma's 96th b-day. Weird that she is almost an entire century older than our little guy will be. We also got a big package from the hospital with info about l&d, visitors, caring for the baby, post-partum care, etc. I have to admit I am starting to freak out a bit about delivery, and the post-partum stuff seems even worse!

Laura - so sorry that you arefeeling yucky! Hope that it all clears up soon so you can enjoy being prego!

Kris and Mille - have either of you tried a body pillow? I had a huge U shaped pillow that I named Pillowmenia...it was so comfortable but dh hated it and chucked it as soon as Aida was born. Aww...it was like sleeping on a cloud!

Aida is doing well. We started supp. a little formula b/c I don't pump enough to cover while I am at work. I was going to have to switch over to formula sooner or later. Her size 1 diapers are getting a little snug so I am hoping this is a sign.

I think that my daughter brings out the worst in me... last week there was a H1N1 flu shot clinic so dh and I went. The line was over 1000 people long. We were not going to wait outside with Aida so we came back near the end of the time (the line was still 100s long) and dh's coworker was able to sneak us into the line near the front. I would never do this usually but the fear of her getting sick makes me selfish!!! Then I only qualified for the nasal mist but dh qualified for the shot...so we switched paperwork so I could get the shot and not get the live virus. I am usually a very much by the books kind of gal...I am now a mommy rebel!

Amy - I'm surprised they would want a nursing mother to get the live virus. Good for you to make sure you got the shot!! Thanks for the tip on the body pillow...I may just have to give in and spend the money on one. I'm really miserable. The snug diapers sound like a good sign that little Aida is growing!!

By the way, diaper question for the mommies in the group...how long were your little ones in newborn diapers? I keep thinking I'm going to have a big baby and I don't want to end up with too many newborn diapers.

Mille - Too funny what you said about the wood chairs being more comfortable. Just last night I got up off our living room couch and told DH I'd be better off sitting in one of the dining room chairs. There is something about that couch that is SO uncomfortable.

Funny story about sleeping...I was grumbling and groaning away last night trying to resituate myself and DH was talking in his sleep and it was something I knew nothing about (work stuff, I figured). I asked him what he was talking about and he basically said "Never mind, I'm dreaming." Then later, I was resituating again and he puts his arm around me and tells me that "It'll be okay." I thought he was just being sweet in his sleep, but there's nothing more fun than talking to a sleeptalker so I asked him what he meant and he said something about the parts of the patio doors he builds at work would be okay. Then he says, "You know...what you were asking about earlier." Then he promptly fell back asleep (or continued sleeping, I guess). I guess it was nice of him to give me permission not to worry about the parts of the patio doors in his dreams. I guess this is one advantage to sleepless nights...I get to have strange conversations with my DH!!

Kris that is such a cute story about your dh! Talking to you while sleeping. Mine does the same thing sometimes! He goes to bed way earlier than I do. Sometimes I come into bed and start talking to him after he is sleeping and he says the most weirdest incoherent things, but I think probably "it'll be okay" is said as he usually comforts me when I worry.

Are you feeling movements these days? Mine didn't start until 22 weeks and 3 or 4 days and now I am feeling tons every day! In the last couple of days I can even see my belly move when the baby moves. It is great. I love feeling him or her wiggling around in there. I think I only really started to feel pregnant when I felt the baby move.

Kris - Aida never wore NB diapers, she went straight to 1's. We excanged all of our NB diapers at BRU.

Naomi - feeling Aida move is the #1 thing I miss! That is such a special feeling...I am so thankful to have had that experience!

Amy - How much did Aida weigh at birth? Good to know that some babies go straight to 1's.

Naomi - I am feeling tons of movement. DH actually felt his first kick on Saturday night! He was so excited he called his mom to tell her. So cute! I agree...you definitely start to really feel pregnant when you feel the little kicks and pops. You realize there's actually a little person in there!!!

Speaking of kicks...I know it's normal, but does/did anyone else have a cervix kicker? Sometimes I swear he's seeing if he can come out yet. The tummy kicks I don't mind, but the cervix kicks startle me...he almost made me pee my pants on Saturday he scared me so bad!!

I'm going to have to have DH take some belly shots of me. I'm getting to be quite rotund
