Low Morphology

Here's my dilemma....

I was told that my DH had decent count (although on the low side) and good motility (like 80s %). We've done 2 IUI and 2 years of TTC naturally.

So I go to get a 2nd opinion and this new RE says that my DH also has 3% morphology and that it is highly unlikely we'd ever conceive on our own and that we just needed to do IVF.

I have one more IUI that insurance will pay for and my RE says my DH can do a few samples and freeze them, and then on the IUI day we can combine them all to make the counts and everything higher.

My question is.... do you think it's worth a try or should we just move on and concentrate on IVF?

Please see my sig for all of my "little" issues that are working against our chances too.....

THANKS!

I think you should try what can it hurt! Emotions run high but they will to for IVF! My husband has low morph (4%) we just had our 1st IUI! I wish you the best of luck!

Go for it!

I don't know if you have already made up your mind but I say you should go for it! My RE seems to think morphology is over-rated or that the viewpoint that you need over 8% normal for IUI is out-dated. My dh has marginal count and motility but only 1% morphology. I have been able to find several success stories with 1 - 3% morphology in these types of forums so I know it does happen. Unfortunately a lot of RE's seem to recommend a fast track to IVF/ICSI which is a lot more expensive and more invasive.
