Question Question about varicocele

Our RE is sending my DH to a specialiest to see what is causing his sperm to be moving slowly at times. His count is low but the RE said my DH has plenty of sperm but they are moving slow an wanted to see why.

My question is this how does a doctor know that a man has varicocele?

My DH is worried about how the doctor is going to treat him. I told him not to worry but he doesn't seem to stop it. So I'm wondering what test do they do to see if he has that.

Appointment is coming up very soon. Gosh I hope we get good news.

Thanks for the help.

The doctor will be able to tell just by feeling around down there, as part of a quick physical exam. Nothing invasive needed. If he does have a varicocele, it is fixed through outpatient surgery. My DH had the surgery and was back to work 2 days later, and was completely recovered (able to go running, work out, etc) 4 weeks later. Good luck!
