Question Results after varicoceles repaired

This is to everyone that has had a varicoceles repaired.

My DH has low sperm count but the RE said he has plenty of sperm but his sperm is moving very slowly at times an others it doing good. So our RE is sending my DH to a specialiest Oct30th to see what is going on. So I've done some asking around but wanted to ask you all if my DH has to have a varicoceles repair what is the results on the count an movement of the sperm after the repair. I've read it take about 3months to see improvement but does it improve them more or what?

My Dh has already been taking stuff to improve his count an motilty but the motilty is still up an down.

We've been ttc for so long we're that soon we get but if have to wait a few more months for the sperm to improve after the repair we can do it. We're when go to the specialiest that it be good news not bad.

My friends DH had his varicocele repaired. They were told the same thing, that it may take a few months to see improvement. He had the procedure and while they were waiting those few months she decided to take 50mg clomid...sure enough she got pregnant right away! Before this, they had tried everything (clomid, injectibles, and several highly medicated iui's), and all it took was a little clomid after the repair!

AllyBourbeau I'm that we get good news for my DH, saying that he needs a repair instead of being told they can't help us.

I've talked to some other people about my DH problems of his sperm an they believe he needs the repair done.

I was going to leave this forum for a while but now seems to have tons of questions popping up out of no were's. This waiting game is very hard an I'm bout to go up the wall waiting for Oct30th to see what his specialist says. GOD I HOPE IT GOOD NEWS..

Thanks for answering my question too.

No advice or success story, but DH just had his varicocele repair today. We are hopeful that it will do the trick!

Hope you don't mind me asking but how long did your DH have to wait to have the repair done?

My Dh is fixing to go to his doctor an I'm trying to find out how long he would have to wait if he needs that done.

Hope your Dh repair make a great change for him..

for you..
