Questions about SA results?

My husband's SA came back *zero. However he did have a few sperm by diagnosed with testicular failure. His testosterone levels were low but all other test came back normal. When we went for my IVF cycle the Urologist was on standby to perform a TESE procedure if he was unable to produce enough sperm. Well he had to give two semen samples but there was enough to fertilize 18 eggs. My question would be is he considered to be azoospermia or not? What are the chances we could conceive another child naturally?

Zeta: It sounds as if azoospermia may be the correct term. Azoospermia is when 0 sperm are found on an SA. I think that when they find a few like it sounds like they did in your DH's case it may be upgraded to severe oligospermia. If there are only a few dozen it may still be azoo.

If you haven't already discovered it, there is an enormous almost 600 page thread about this issue. I highly recommend reading it, it has a wonderful group of supportive ladies.

Have they determined the cause of the low T levels and azoo? As you can see from my signature, we are in that process ourselves. We are waiting on genetic testing results but my husband's T levels are responding very well to the Clomid. Just don't let anyone put your DH on a testosterone supplement like Androgel if you guys want to conceive. Our UR made this mistake.

Best wishes and
