OK! They put 2 embryos in today- both grade 2, but the dr said they were A-, the same as last time. So I'm trying my hardest to just calm down and wait this out. The shots are already making it sore to sit. The beta's April 24th.

Hi Ladies,

I just found your group and wanted to join in. My DH also has azospermia. He had a rare cancer when he was 4 and was treated with extensive chemo and radiation which caused his infertility. We found out in 04/06 and is still bitter. We have chosen to use DS, and had 2 failed cycles. We wanted to try again in March, but when I called to order more vials, they told me that the donor we chose is no longer available as the last reported pregnancy had detected genetic disorders. The sperm bank did not ellaborate on the situation at all, so now we are back to square 1 with searching for another donor match.
As for DH, as I said before, he is still bitter about his situation. He wants a child more than anyone I know, including myself. He is the only child and he is now trying to cope with the fact that his mom dismisses the whole situation every time he tries to get comfort from her or just to vent. I end up crying for him! Sorry this is sooooooo long.

and for us all to have !

Maria

Hi Maria and welcome.

I am so sorry about your situation and DH's diagnosis. That is too bad about the donor, but good that you found out about the genetic disorders. That is terrible about how your DH is feeling IF is a tough road and it is not fair. Has your DH had a testical biopsy to see if he produces any sperm?

This is a great place for support. I hope you guys find a new donor and get your BFP soon.

Hang in there Tripp glad you have time off to take it easy.

Foxxy, I know how hard it is to handle male infertility. I initially thought my hubby didn't really fully process that I was ok and he had something wrong so I kept trying to push the DS issue. It took a while for him to react and really express how much he wanted a child. Since then I have been more sensitive. I don't know if he realizes but when I see him play with my friends kids I can see that It's not the genetic link that makes you love your child. I pray your next DS choice is the one that God meant to help your family grow.
Jen D- How is the waiting going? Time seems to be going by quickly. Lynn

Jen D,

No DH hasn't had a biopsy. Reason being, the urologist told him that he could almost guarantee that the results wouldn't change. We actually had 2 urologists tell him that. Once he heard that, he immediately turned to DS as our only option. He feels that having half a Fox is better than no Fox at all! His way of making light of our situation. Since we started looking for another DS, he asked me what I thought about him having the biopsy, so he may just change his mind, which I personally hope he does. I told him whatever he wanted to do, I would support him 100%.

LineaLI,

Initially I was the one who was having a hard time convincing myself that it I would love a child that was not a part of my husband. I just couldn't get it out of my head, that it was almost as if I had cheated on him! Pathetic I know, but after many tears, hugs and long talks, my DH convinced me otherwise. I feel lucky that he was easily accepting to DS and moving forward. He is a fighter, which is good for me. J

How does your DH feel after playing with your friend's children? My DH loves playing with them, but I can see disappointment on his face. And he is always depressed after we leave.

we are all blessed with

Maria

Hi everyone! None of the other embryos made it to freezing- not like I thought they would, but it makes me nervous about the 2 in me.

Sidenote- I officially turned in to a full member today! It no longer says "junior"!

Jen- I started Lupron yesterday, the stims should start next Thursday or so with possible ER around April30 depending on the TESE. Do you know if a glass of wine is ill advised while on BCP and Lupron? I have a few get together's this weekend.

Maria- My husband doesn't get depressed about anything because he is completely a positive thinker. He doesn't doubt that we will be able to have kids so it doesn't upset him to play with others. He actually gets a little mad when I complain that I dont' want to hear his Mom go on about his sister who' expecting. He doesn't want to use DS as a backup becaus eto him that would be showing a lack of faith on our part. He said that is a bridge we would cross if his proceedure doesn't yeild any sperm, not that he thinks that is the case. Everytime I smile at a baby in a carriage or pick up a "neice" I know that whatever child God blesses us with will be completelry ours and completely loved. Lynn

LineaLI- You have such a wonderful, positive attitude! I'm glad you have such a supportive husband, too. That is so helpful. How is the lupron going?

foxxy- My husband had a biopsy and they found like 3 sperm in the test run, but the actual TESE they found millions and millions! It might be worth looking into if you want to go through that. They can do wonders with just a few! It is rough though and a tough decision.

Jen- How are you doing? Only 3ish weeks to go!
