Caribbean Queen and Diana 83, thanks!

AllD- Yes, you may have implantation bleeding, that you still get a ! You are still not out yet!

Hopprn- Sorry to hear you have the flu, I hope you and your son get better soon.

Leftunder- My DH has only one scar. I am hoping the hernia is the reason for dx of azoospermia. He only has one scar. But I don't even know if the doctor was that experienced in doing hernia surgeries. You know recently his mother told me that since the doctor was doing the hernia surgery, he went ahead and circumcised him too!!! Can you believe this! At 6 years old he was circumcised without approval of his mother! I am sorry but my mother in law was sure naive to think that because the doctor had known the family for awhile that in case of any wrong doing, he would have told them! He obviously did not tell her of the possibity of scarring!
By the way, good luck on your TESE!

ljnotr- that you get your . A bloody nose can be a good sign of early pregnancy. Keeping my for you!

Rose82- Hoping you feel better soon too!

Mille- I don't think I ever told your congrats on your pregnancy. SO CONGRATS!!! Also, that is really nice of you to donate your meds.

Oh, you guys! How do you stay so positive for me? I love you ladies! Thank you.

I have been so wrapped up in what is going on with my body that I just can't seem to focus on much else.

After yesterday, the spotting stopped. No more cramping at the moment either. I am always running to the bathroom to check to see if AF is here, but no sign. I also have a CM change... I won't go into details. Anyhow...

I broke down last night with my DH, and he felt really bad. I blamed him for not wanting this like I do because when I had the spotting his reaction was, "That sucks honey. I'm sorry. So, at work..." I just felt like he didn't care. I came home today, and he had a card telling me how much he loved me and that he would continue to be by my side through all of this. I swear sometimes I don't deserve him! But I am sure glad he is with me!

AllD- It is perfectly normal to feel like you do! I snapped at DH last night for no reason and I felt so bad afterwards as he just sits there and takes it from me. The TWW is getting to us both I think! Lets hope the moodiness is a good sign! Hang in there!

AllD- I that AF stays away. That the spotting stopped is a very good sign.
Before we found out about the azoospermia dx, I was like you too. In the 2ww, always checking for every sign if I was pregnant. Totally normal.

Also, your dh sounds like he does really care and love you. Many times I have gotten mad at my dh because he does not say what I want him to say at certain situations. But I know he cares about how I am feeling. It's just that men can't express themselves like women can. That is what I notice.

This past weekend I too had a breakdown at the mall we were visting. We were not even inside the mall yet, but driving around looking for parking. When I begin to see pregnant women, women with babies, children, walking insided the mall, I just started bawling. I told my dh that the situation we were in was killing me inside. He did not say anything, but say" I am sorry".

Well usually he never buys me anything because he is a penny pincher (LOL, I am ok with that). We walked into a name brand store and bought me a really nice purse! Ok, I prefer a baby a million times over, but it was the gesture in which I know my husband cares about me very much. He may not have the right words to comfort me, but he has other ways to show me that he understands and loves me. I don't know , does that make sense???

Raquel – It def makes sense. I think every man shows there emotions differently….and a purse it def a nice way to do it..haha.

Alldeliveries- I am sorry you had a breakdown the other day but like the others said it is perfectly normal. I think we all have our days….believe me I do! I know how you feel though. Sometimes I feel like my DH doesn’t want it as bad as me too…and I bring it up to him and he always reassures me. Its just so difficult for all of us.

Mille-Awesome that you donated your meds….hopefully they will help another woman just like us. Good luck with your u/s!! BTW how are you feeling?

Ljnotr – Sorry about your BFN!! Good luck with your beta on Friday. I will keep my fingers crossed!

Rose – Hope you feel better soon. As far as New York…I live there and yes it can be expensive. My only suggestion is to go on Expedia.com and look for hotels….when you find some that are affordable you can post the names and I will tell you whatever I know about them. (My dh is a cop in NYC and he knows a lot of places!)

Hopprn- OMG I am sooo sorry to hear that. I certainly hope you feel better soon and are able to continue with FET next week!

AFM, Just spoke to the Dr and she said that DH’s dx is due to maturation arrest. Does anyone have any experience with this? I was reading online that there have been some trials with clomid and other drugs to help grow the sperms. Does anyone know of any infertility centers that try this type of thing? Any info would be great! We have an appt with the RE on the 23rd of June to discuss using donor sperm. I hope to get the ball rolling shortly after that! I am soooo sick and tired of waiting around. It takes such a mental toll of me.

As for everyone else, I sending hugs your way.

Dreamer- DH is also dx with maturation arrest. We asked our urologist about clomid, but she said that because his FSH is elevated (12.5) that she wouldn't recommend for us. She did say that they do prescribe clomid in some cases where FSH is normal, which appears to be the case for you. We will also be meeting with an RE soon to discuss whether or not to move forward with IVF/mTESE or go the DS route (our urologist recommends doing mTESE- 50% chance, but RE that I spoke doesn't feel it's likely that anything will be found) Good luck!

Diana,

Yes my dh's FSH was 4.7 so I think that is pretty normal. The UR didnt metion clomid but I think I am going to call her tomorrow and ask.

Just a question....What is the difference between a biopsy and an mtese? My UR said that she would have seen the sperm during the biopsy and sperm retrieval ....so basically and mTese would not be useful. It seems like you got different information and I was just curious what you were told the difference was. I am always nervous that I am seeing the wrong Dr's or something. Thanks!!

Dreamer- Basically my understanding is the mTESE is a more thorough search for sperm. My DH has only had a biopsy done at this point. She made a small incision and took tissue sample to send for pathology. In some cases, sperm can be found during the biopsy, but it our case it was not. From what our uro told us about the mTESE, it would be much more invasive. She said she would essentially be opening up the testicle to look. She did not even mention the TESE to us. An RE that I spoke to told me that if sperm cannot be successfully retrieved by TESE, then he didn't see a real need to move forward with an mTESE (this sounds similar to what your uro is saying). So in our case, our uro is telling is to go one way, and the RE is saying to go another! Who knows, I'm meeting with this RE on the 16th so hopefully I'll get a little better explanation on his reasons for not recommending mTESE, and I will likely be calling our uro back as well to see what she thinks. It seems like there are not a lot of easy answers when it comes to this! I'll let you know if I find anything out, hopefully you'll do the same!

Dreamer - I hope there is something that can be done, especially since your DH's FSH is low. I know cubbydh had normal hormone levels and they suspected maturation arrest with him and he was treated with Arimidex and was able to have sperm without mTESE.

AllD - Good luck today!! Praying you get your BFP!

Laura - Praying you get your BFP tomorrow!

I hear you both on the breakdowns...last cycle I told my DH I wasn't even sure why we are trying so hard for this and that maybe I didn't even want children! WHAT?! We can get pretty crazy and say things we don't mean at all.

hopprn - I hope you get better soon...and I'm praying that it doesn't interfere with your FET next week!

I don't really have time for more personals...busy busy week at work and I've had 12 hour days all week. Helps keep my mind off the 2ww though :-) I'm 10dpIUI, haven't really had any symptoms at all. I had the weird pinching cramps on 7-8dpIUI, but I've had those every other times so I'm not counting on it being anything. I guess I should say I've had a really strong gag reflex the last two days, but I honestly think that's nerves more than anything.

I'll try to check in more frequently once work lightens up a bit! Good luck to everyone as you are dealing with this dx

Hi Everyone!
Eweby- I love yor phrase about the expressway to craziness!!!!! This is so true.

Kris- so great to hear from you. Its nice that you have work to keep you busy during this crazy 2ww wait! I look forward to hearing your updates when you can spare a few moments.

AllD- any news?

To everyone else, I am thinking of you all and praying that your time whether it is in the TWW, waiting for tests or procedures goes by fast.

I was wondering since there seems to be a few of us from the tristate ( NY, NJ, CT ) area, Would you guys want to meet in NYC one day for lunch? It might be nice to be able to meet up if we could? Just a thought!

AFM- I go for my beta tomorrow. I have sworn off the evil pee sticks after my BFN on Monday. I keep telling myself it was too early to test anyway!

I will let you guys know tomorrow when I get my results!

Hi everyone,

It's been a busy week. I am a high school teacher and exams are in a week so I've been crazy busy!

How is everyone doing? I just wanted to pop in to let everyone know that I am thinking about you all.

For all of those in the 2WW - keep your hopes up! Nothing is for sure until the beta testing! for you!

I am having one of my "I can't believe that this is happening to both my husband and I" days. I guess feeling a little sorry for myself. It's so good to come here and talk to others in the same boat. I still think we all are going through this for some reason - make us stronger people perhaps? I'm still working on the answer....

to everyone,
AmyN

Good luck tomorrow!! for you!!
