Hi Al - Just wanted to pop in to this forum - very happy that I found it - I learn new things everyday and am very thankful that you all have shared your experience - this is such a rollercoaster ride even for us having secondary infertility - My husband was dx with Azoo over 2 years ago after ttc for like 6 yrs - ( we have a 9 yr old dd and he has a 15 yr old ds) and we finally went back to the RE in September and are on our journey we will be doing IUI with DS- my next visit with the RE is on the 19th to see about moving on to clomid and hopefully do a IUI this month - Dh did not want to go thru surgery (TESE) he was the one to ask the dr about using DS- ok I rambled long enough lol hope we all get a really soo!

Joann: to the thread. This is a wonderful group. I have actually read all 500+ pages of this thread twice as I was a late joiner this past summer.

I am assuming that your husband has some sort of obstructive azoo since has had a child before. Does he know that it is often much easier to find sperm with that type of azoo that what my husband has for example, the non-obstructive type? He may not need to undergo radical procedures such as a TESE.

I don't want to affect your decision of course and am thrilled that you already have plans for IUIs with DS. There are many success stories here with that.

I wish you the best in your journey and please feel free to ask any questions here (most likely someone knows the answer) or vent any time.

Atiz, 3rdtimes and Lost: best of luck this week. Any news from you yet?

Hi to Angie, Armywife, Sarah, Melc, Kris, Erin, Amy, Mille, Schatzi, Ewebey, Singing and everyone. Happy Monday (if there is such a thing).

Hi all, just a quick note...
It looks like my ER will be on Thursday. As of right now my lining is the best it has ever been (11A), I can expect 15-16 mature eggs (22 follies), and my E2 is behaving (well at least somewhat...it was around 2300 today, so we'll see how it does tomorrow). I go in for more b/w and u/s tomorrow and then I will end up triggering tomorrow night. I'm really excited and I have a good feeling about this cycle.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Monday...this weekend went by exceptionally fast!!

3rdtimes: That sounds great so far. from me for Thursday!!!

AFM: I am STILL waiting for AF!!! Seriously. My last AF was 10/1. This is about the latest I ever remember being. It has to be my stress levels but does make me feel better about my day 21 progesterone being super low indicating I didn't ovulate. That was probably assuming a 28 day cycle not a 39 (and counting) day cycle.

DH will probably get his testosterone rechecked this week to see where we are and we are trying to get the Arimidex approved by Kaiser (not holding my breath). Still waiting on the chromosonal analysis but I know that one takes a while.

I don't know about anyone else but I am going to be thrilled to see the back side of 2009, decidedly not a banner year for DH and I.

I hope everyone else is doing OK.

JojoinNJ - I'm glad you found your way to this forum...I've seen you in the IUI w/DS forum also. This is a great group! Good luck as you get ready for your first IUI.

3rdtimes - I was reading your info and having a very good feeling about your cycle too...lots of follies and a great lining!! Good luck Thursday!

SFBayGirl - It's possible you just didn't ovulate this month (stress-induced) and you may need help to get AF to show up. I know others have used Provera to get the party started up again. My sister had to do this earlier this fall and it did start eventually. It is good to know this is unusual and probably indicates your progesterone levels being so low are not the norm and that usually you do ovulate.

Happy Monday everyone!! I'm glad this week is a short week for me...I'm a govt. employee and get Wednesday off! I feel like I've been running non-stop the past few weeks!!

Hi Kris! I am glad you have a short work week. How is the 2nd trimester treating you? Do you feel pretty good? How is DH doing? I bet you guys are looking forward to this years holidays. I remember reading older posts about how you felt pretty down during them. I was also thinking about your sister, how is she handling things? Is she working on adopton or embryo adoption? Wow, sorry for so many questions.

I have never taken any kind of drug such as provera or clomid (maybe I can borrow some from DH ). I wonder how long I should give AF before I do something about it. I had the completely insane thought that maybe I should take a hpt but know I would be setting myself up for heartbreak.

To add to my stress, we just got an email from the UR at Kaiser that the genetisist has ordered an additional test and DH has to get more blood drawn. He somehow neglected to mention what the test was. Don't you think we might want that kind of info??? Geez, doctors!! (I can say that because I am one even if I deal with animals only)

I can't wait to hear about the ER results from the ladies having procedures this week. I desperately need to live vicariously through you guys right now. Keeps me sane and gives me something positive to look too.

Kris--I am also a government employee and will be enjoying my Wednesday off!!

Chris--My cycles are generally on the longer side (31-36 days) but since this whole diagnosis I've had some wacky ones...one was about 47 days! Definitely stress I would say. They've seemed to even out recently...whew! It's hard though because even though I know we can't conceive on our own, I must admit I get my hopes up every month

As for me--my DH has been gone on his hunting trip since last Wednesday and it seems like an eternity!! He comes home Friday night and I can't wait. It's sad coming home to an empty house! It's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder...and I have a whole new respect for people with spouses or partners in the service. My DH has been gone a measly 6 days and I'm going crazy and some people have to go months and years. Definitely makes me thankful...

Hope everyone is doing well!

8/1/09: FSH 12.3, LH 22.8, Prolactin 17.2, Testerone 952....all seem high.
September 09: Small pituitary tumor found in MRI, this is not a contributing factor and not something they are concerned about.
September 09: 2nd round of blood labs are drastically different and estradiol shows as elevated (not tested before)
10/6/09: Karyotype normal, but y-chromosome microdeletion is positive. "both markers for AZFc are deleted" (local urologist made it seem like we had zero chance after this diagnosis)

Upcoming:
11/17: In-person consultation with Dr. Schlegel in NYC! (Initial reaction from him via email is that we have a 70% chance of successful mTESE!)

Erin: Wow, 47 days. I am not quite there yet. Have you taken any meds for this? I am glad your DH will be back soon. Every year or so I have to go to a conference for continuing ed and always feel so lonely and out of sorts without DH, I can never sleep well either, I end up waking up every hour or so during the night.

It is getting really close to your appt. with Dr. S. Just next week. Are you guys excited about it. Is DH nervous? I bet the trip was a nice distraction for him, getting to do those manly things.

Thanks SFBaygirl - no not obstructive - been there checked that his numbers are just real low like one of the first SA he had like 17 and and 2 moving but really slow and now this last time 15 and only one moving... Its so frustrating I am blessed to have my dd but it doesnt dull it (the void )- I know I'm might get flamed for that - I am just being honest. the RE wanted him to do the TESE before we moved on but my husband has had surgery every year for the last 5 years and he said he didnt want to have to go thru another one

With Thanksgiving approaching I just thought that I would share a "tradition" that DH and I started last turkey day...

2008 was a really hard year for us...on top of the IF dx and failed cycles we also lost three family members, dh had a serious Chron's flare-up, we were broke from all the treatments and we were in the middle of the two week wait for the cycle thae seemed destined to fail. It seemed like the only things going on in our lives were bad things. So to lift our spirits, on Thanksgiving night, we made a list of everything that happened that year that we were thankful for...we hung it on the fridge and every time I see it I smile.

BTW the message board was one of the things on our list!

Just wanted to give a quick hello to everyone in here!

Kris congrats!! A little boy! You and DH must be so excited.

SFbaygirl- I'm sorry AF is stressing you out. Are you usually regular? About a year ago I had an ovarian cyst and it made me CRAZY late, like 2 1/2- 3 weeks off...but you would probably feel it if it were a cyst. Anyhow, I hope it all gets sorted out for you, its always unsettling when our bodies aren't acting normally.

erinvt- I'm sorry DH has been away! Doesn't it get lonely with no one else in the house? My husband has been traveling just about every other week this fall with his new job and I am not a fan!

3rdtimes- good luck with ER on thurs!! It sounds like you have the perfect # of follies.

speaking of late periods, mine was about a week late and I don't know why, but I actually got my hopes up...kind of silly, I knew there was zero chance, and it was late most likely b/c of the IVF cycle in sept. But anyhow, I started on estrogen today, and we're looking at doing a FET right before thanksgiving, so I'm getting excited, I'm definately ready for it.

Will be thinking of you guys

Hi all. It looks like there has been a lot going on!

JojoinNJ - Welcome! Good luck at your appointment

Lost -

3rdtimesthecharm - Thinking of you this week!

SFBayGirl - I hate how your body goes wacky at the worst times! I hope things straighten out and you don't have to worry about going to the Dr or taking anything.

erin - That is a long time! I hope you have a chance to do some nice things for yourself while he's gone.

Kelbell - Thanksgiving is so close. for your FET.

Amy - That's a really nice tradition. I think I'll suggest something like that to DH.

Kris - I can't believe you're 22 weeks already! You'll have to post some nursery pics when you have some

I have to say I'm jealous of everyone who has a day off this week. I could use it. I've been having a lot of trouble with motivation at work lately!

I've done my first lupron injection and it was better and worse than I thought it would be.... It was a lot easier than I was expecting, but I got really light headed afterwards. I think I psyched myself out and I'm hoping that gets better. I guess it's good that I can get used to this one before I start stims!

Amy: That is a great idea. 2009 has been for me like your 2008. I lost both of my beloved dogs, my buisness/job and this IF stuff of course which especially hit home as I turned 35 this year. I don't have a whole lot to be thankful for this year but I am going to find some things, this board is definately high on the list!

Kebell: That is great about the FET on Thanksgiving eve, now that is something to be thankful for.

Schatzi: Hello! I am glad you got the lupron shot over with and have that experience under your belt before starting stims.

Joann: Please don't feel bad about that void you feel. We won't flame you I promise. This forum is extremely supportive. There are many people who have previous children here. I guess since azoo is such a severe form of IF, there aren't as many people with children as some of the other IF threads unless they were from a previous marriage but once again we do completely understand. I can see why your DH would not want to have yet another surgery after having so many. I wish you the best with your IUIs!

Hi Ladies! I have been so busy lately I haven’t had any time to check in with you all….but I am back and I see you have all been very active…haha.

Schatzi: I am glad to hear your lupron shot went well even though you had some dizziness…I am sure that was just nerves. And its good to see you will start stimming soon. I wish you all the best.

Kellbell: Glad to hear you ovaries are recovering and going back to where they belong. Thanksgiving is just around the corner so your FET isn’t too far away…u must be excited!

Amyinohio: I loved that tradition that you posted and I thank you for sharing it. I think it is a great idea to do that when things don’t seem to be going the way you planned. This year has been horrible for my DH and I. It has been one bad thing after another and I think I am going to take your idea and do that for the holiday. I know that I have so much to be grateful or its just so hard to see it sometimes. Thanks again!

Erin: I am the same when my DH is gone. He is a cop and works a lot of overtime so sometimes I can go three days without seeing him and I think THAT is long…..pathetic , I know.

Kris: How are you feeling by the way? Any typical pregnancy cravings or anything like that?

SFBAY: I can’t believe you didn’t get AF yet….hopeful she will rear her ugly head soon. Sorry to hear that Dr. ordered more tests. I remember the testing phase and it was so frustrating. It felt like I was getting nowhere an d all I wanted to do was start procedures. But hang in there, you will catch up to all of us shortly.

JojoinNJ: Welcome to the Azoo board. You will find a wealth of information and knowledge here. These ladies are wonderful!

3rdtimes: That is so exciting that you ER is going to be Thursday. I with keep you in my prayers for this cycle. Keep us posted!

Joy: I know it’s a little late but Congrats! I am so happy for you!!

AFM: I am currently in my 2ww AGAIN! I had back to back IUI’s on Sat and Sun…so I am hoping this is my cycle. I also had an appt with my RE and we have decided that if this IUI doesn’t work we will be moving on to IVF. The Dr. even submitted all my paperwork to the insurance company and it was approved thank god. If it wasn’t than there was no way DH and I could afford that. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that it is not needed after all!

Hope everyone is having a good week!
