We will be transferring 2 tomorrow at 1145! Scary Scary!! Exciting, but scary!! I just hope it works. Hubby put on "bringing home baby" this afternoon. I wanted to kill him!! I think he is excited, but I tell him not to get his hopes up!! I just hope they keep growing and growing. Does anyone know how all the grades of embryos work? I'm not sure. I guess I will find out tomorrow. The progesterone shot itself was not bad, but my butt is definitely sore today. I guess I will have 2 sore cheeks tomorrow! GREAT! haha. I got to get out today. Went to the grocery store. I figure I will be trapped in the house for the next few days, so I may as well get out while I can right?!

Hey all,

Mel- Wow et tomorrow, how exciting!!! I will be !!! After the transfe you have to rest for a few days and then won't know for a few days, is that right?

So what are all you going through ivf process doing about working? With as much as it sounds like you have to go the doctor and the like, do you all just take vacation days from work or how have you handled it? IVF sounds like a full time job in itself.

Jen 78- I hope your hormone levels are improving. How incredibly frustrating getting as far as you have through the azoo and then have to deal with more problems. We are all ing you on!!!

Lauren

Hiya everyone,

Just thought I'd pop in and give a quick update. From now until Christmas I won't be posting very much. I am just never home, and when I am, I'm trying to catch up on the housework. It's a little overwhelming!

So what's new with me? I have a new foster daughter. She is 14 months old and has a rare genetic disorder called PKU. Basically her liver can't break down protein and turns it into a toxin. She has to be on a VERY strict diet for her entire life. If she isn't fed properly she could suffer brain damage, neurological issues, behavior issues, and severe exzema. PKU us so rare, but serious, that they test for it in every newborn screening.

Her birth mother wasn't feeding her properly (she is only 17), and as a result my fd was in misery. She had exzema so bad that she has blisters on top of the rash... I've had her for two days now.

So what is her diet like? 8 scoops of a specialized formula, 6 Tlbs of milk, and 32 oz of water. She drinks 4 sippy cups of this a day. She also has to have 100 mg of food a day. To give you an example of what that would be like... 2 teaspoons of corn = 15 mg; 1/3 cup of fruit loops = 30 mg; 1/2 cup of peaches = 15 mg.

I also still have my 7 month old foster son (but his mother is now up to two visits a week. ), I SHOULD have a court date for my 4 year old son whom we're trying to adopt later today!!! My other 4 year old is being evaluated by the school system to see if she can qualify for a special behavior preschool (paid for by the school!). My 8 year old is getting ready to have his FIRST gymnastics competition the weekend of the 8th. My 12 year old isn't really doing anything new at the moment, but she's a Godsend with helping me around the house.

So with all this going on, I just don't have time to post right now. But I'll be back once my life calms down. I think now I understand why God didn't allow me to get pregnant on my last cycle. I don't see how I could have handled all this while having a healthy pregnancy.

Mel -Good luck today. for you. Post when you can take it easy today!

Jen D- how was your appointment?

Lauren- IVF is pretty much a full time job LOL. But for me anyway the appointments for BW and US begin at 6:30am so I woke up at the crack of dawn get that done and then go to work. The day of the ER and ET I will be taking sick days. My full-time job is pretty sedentary so I will probably go back the following day of me ET depending on how I feel. But I will not be working my part-time job which is the Emergency Room it is too crazy and I really do alot of running around there so I took the month of Dec. of their. It is alot but you will manage it and it becomes a routine really quickly. Good luck

Anna- Nice to hear from you Good luck with the kids and especially the new baby . And you are right God know s what he does and why he does it and eventually we realize why too. Hope you have a Great Christmas with all the kiddos!

I had my BW and US today again. I have 10 follicles on the left and 8 on the right and then I wonder why I feel so bloated LOL. I don't know about the BW yet waiting for the call and for them to tell me my next step. I will update you all later.

Hello to everyone hope all is doing great and that the days are flying as quickly for you guys as they are for me. Tomorrow is DECEMBER yeah!!!!

Thanks for all the sticky vibes!! Hopefully they will help!! Still doesn't feel real to me. Hubby says he has a pit in his stomach. I don't...which makes me think something is wrong with me! haha. I was nervous up until the TESE and when we found out good news, I didn't have a pit in my stomach..maybe it is a good thing that I am not nervous?!?!

Lauren, I have rest at least a few days. I read somewhere that someone's dr wanted her to rest for 2 weeks!! I don't know if I could handle that!! I will definitely rest this weekend and I think I may take Monday and Tuesday off too. Regarding work, I am very fortunate to have unlimited personal time. I have talked to 2 of my supervisors about this and they are very understanding, so I don't have any problem. I figure I am not abusing the system, so they should have no problem. What time of personal/sick time does your work allow you?? I did take 2 vacation days this week as well, just bc I didn't want to use all personal time the entire week.

Jen78, How are those stims working??

JenD, good luck with your b/w and u/s!!

Well we are on are way to eat some breakfast. I just did some laundry and cleaned downstairs, bc I know hubby and I will both be couch bound for the next few days...well, he already is

Have a great Friday!! I will update later on hopefuly!!

Well, we are home from the transfer. We had:
2 embryos with 8-cell, Grade 1 (perfect munchkins)
1 embryo with 8-cell, Grade 2
1 embryo with 4-cell, Grade 2

We actually had the choice of transferring 2 or 3. I almost jumped at the chance of the 3, but if we had done that we wouldn't have any 8-celled embryos for later cycles if we need them. So, we decided on 2. The dr. said they were perfect! We are pretty excited. I am currently on the couch and hubby says I'm here for a while!! I'm going to get antsy, but I know it is for the best!! So, we are thrilled!! I will warn all you...the transfer itself was a piece of cake, but the fact that you have to have a full bladder...SUCKS!!! I had to go soooooooooo bad!!
They let me go a little bit before the dr came in, but it was still VERY uncomfortable. So, that's that!! Now we wait - UGH!! It didn't kick in until I got in and sat on the couch that there are 2 little munchkins in me!! *smile* Keep your fingers crossed and the sticky vibes coming - they have worked so far!!

I'm going to try to get some rest right now, but I will be on later or tomorrow to read all the updates!

Lauren, Good luck with the mapping procedure!! Let us know how they go!

Jen78, Good luck with your last stim!!! Yeah!! Things are moving right along!

Karen, You sound like you may go for ER earlier!! I looked at the size of your follicles - they are big so far!! Keep em growing!!

Hello to everyone else, Happy Friday!!

Wow Mel! Those 2 sound perfect! Keeping my hopes and prayers up for you!

Good luck to the others of you stimming right now! I can't believe how fast that came.

Welcome new people! This is a wonderful group of people always willing to help out.

As for us... we are just waiting for them to get out. We just started week 37- full term for twins. We can't wait to meet these little ones. It's been quite a journey.

Wow Tripp, you made it. How big are the little guys? I had my 32 week ultrasound and they're about 4 pounds, sounded good to me.

Mel- Our embies were a grade 1 and grade 2 so you're looking great. I had my transfer on Friday and went to an all day scrapbook thing Saturday which was mostly sitting, eating and cutting. By Monday I felt safe to go to work but if you can take time, go for it. Besides there are lots of cute Christmas movies this time of year. We're praying for you.

Anna, I can't believe you have another little one. God bless you. Do you still have the baby's sister?

Best wishes this cycle JenD
