My husband and I are going through the whole infirtility testing process for the first time after almost 2 years of trying naturally. I have polycystic ovary syndrome, and he has retrograde ejaculation r/t type 2 diabetes. His first test came back negative- his sperm looked great, and plenty of them, but only a few were living. His second test was done via catherization, but had the same results. Now we're waiting for a male infirtility specialist to call us for an appointment.
This past month has been awful for the both of us, and now this waiting game is killing me. On one hand I just want to get any bad news over with, but on the other hand I feel like I need to grasp at hope. |

Retrograde Too!
I am totally new to all of this and some of the lingo. My DH was diagnosed with Retrograde Ejaculation two years ago, we have just started to TTC now. I just was at the fertility doctor today and left pretty dejected. I appear to be fine, regular periods, ovulation etc. My husband has very low sperm count 0.5 and low motility less than 15%. We have been advised that IUI is the first course of action, however, my really big worry right now is they want me to take all the fertility drugs, clomid, injectable and then the IUI itself. Am I silly to be so concerned, I would really like to try naturally with IUI but got the impression the doctor was opposed to my feelings. Any thoughts or advice? If you have taken these drugs did you feel okay?

Us too!
I know the original post is old - but I am really new to this forum so anyway. . . My DH has Type 1 Diabetes which causes retrograde ejaculation as well. We have had 3 IUI's. Just found out this morning that the latest try was unsuccessful.
It's been a rough day to say the least. The Dr. wants to try IVF and we will be discussing this - don't know if insurance covers it either. I wonder has anyone's DH had this fertility issue and still gotten pregnant? |

Friend's success story
A friend of mine has PCOS and her husband is diabetic with retrograde ejaculation. They had each been TTC for a couple years in their first marriages and it didn't work. Then they got together and got pregnant by accident. They're currently having trouble TTC #2, but it can happen - their son just started kindergarten this year.
