male infertility - Vas. Reversal

Hello!
Wondering if anyone one out there has experience with vasectomy reversals. My dh had a vas. 5 years ago - (worst mistake we've ever made!) We had a reversal done in July - first count showed zero. We are upset, but as Christians, we are open to the possibility that God has something else in store for us. We do have 4 bio children now, but feel led to either more children , or adopting. We are in the process of considering if adoption would work for us. Actually I am all for it, dh is not yet decided. I think adoptive families are so special!
My dh is not yet willing to give up on having more children together, and has even mentioned re-doing the reversal surgery.
My question is - how long to let this go before we make a step in a different direction(adoption)? one year, two? ANyone have advice?
THanks,
AMy

The time frame to adopt is really up to you. My dh had a reversal over 1 year ago after 10+ years. We had a tissue sample taken and are using it for IVF. Talk to you dr to see if re-doing the reversal will actually help. Best of luck

Reversal

Hang in there. My DH also had a vas and reversal. Biggest mistake he ever made as well. His tests from the beginning were low for everything. Number, Motility, Morphology, etc. all low. We have been through 4 IUI's and now starting IVF. With the first IUI his count was only at 15 mil, the second, 7 mil, the 3rd 200 mil and the last 300 mil!!

How long ago was the reversal? Our doctor told us it could take up to a year for his sperm to reach their "normal" status.
