Unhappy Low Sperm Count

I've never been on a board before but today my husband got his first round of tests back and they said he had low sperm count, we get the tests in the mail in a few days and I guess it will show more. I've been checked out and am good. I'm tryin not to be too upset until we know all the details but something deep inside tells me it isn't good. I am terrified as I want a family so bad. We have been trying for about 18 months. Recently my MIL told me his father had low sperm and they did fertility treatments for 2 yrs to get pregnant with him. I guess I will post again for more info when we get all the results back.

We're going through similar things with low sperm counts here. Keep your chin up!

Is he on any meds, specifically beta blockers or blood pressure medication?

He is on cholesterol medicine but that's it he could lose a little weight-maybe that is a factor? We just found out tonight and he is trying to act like it isn't bothering him but I know it is and he is so down. It is breaking my heart!

There's a great forum on here for male infertility, highly recommend reading through that. Google is your friend!

My husband has a low count due to low testosterone. He had a varicocele repaired in May 2008 - but it didn't help the count one bit.

His count is usually at about 11 million pre-wash - post wash we have had counts range from 1 million to 8 million (6 IUIs).

I put him on Fertilaid about 4 months ago - didn't seem to do a thing for his last count (which ended up being 2 million post wash - one of his lowest counts).
