Low testosterone and azoospermia

Hello. I was wanting to see if anyone could give me any advice on what I should try to do with my husband. My husband got a SA done and was told there were no sperm. After some blood tests we got back they said his LH and FSH were all within normal limits but his testerone was low...a 261 on a scale of 280-800 being "normal" He is only 27 and from what I have found online his testerone levels should be between 600 and 700 for his age. He doesn't exhibit any symptoms of Klinefelters syndrome except the low testosterone so I don't think that is it. Does anyone have experience with testosterone replacement and if so, did it increase sperm counts? Please give me any knowledge some of you out there may have. The doctor he went to basically said to him "It is what it is" and gave him the name of a fertility specialist 3 hours away. I'm really hoping there is something simple that can be tried to increase his sperm counts.

Simplyforgiven - I would agree that I don't think it's Klinefelter's because he would likely have high FSH. My DH's was about 44 and I think they like it under 10. I will just reiterate what I said before...testosterone replacement will not increase your DH's sperm count. It will take care of other symptoms he may have from low T (such as tiredness, low sex drive, bone density issues). T replacement actually will do the opposite of promoting sperm cell growth. Usually men trying to have children do not go on it unless they have completely ruled out the possibility of having sperm. My DH had surgery to verify that he didn't have sperm or the capability of producing it and now is doing T replacement for general health reasons, not to promote sperm production. Others I have read about have been put on hCG injections or used Clomid or Arimidex to promote sperm production. Two gals on the Azoo thread had DH's go from zero to normal going this route. I believe they were like yours with low T, but normal FSH and LH. I think the best next step would be to see the fertility specialist, specifically someone for male factor infertility. I know it's not fun to go all that way (our UR is 2 hours away), but it's worth it for the knowledge they have. I wish you all the best.
