Dear waiting to concieve: i have read some of your history and can relate some of your experiences to mine. after about 8 months without success,(i had 4 injectible cycles BFN) i really had to break down....to make matters worse, i saw a new RE and she noticed some concerns with my DH morphology and low motility. we are currently working with a urologist who specializes in fertility. he has take blood, my DH had a scrotal u/s, and he has to give another semen analysis this week. once all results are in then we will see....i don't want to put myself through another injectible cycle if we are just chasing our tails...so if the results indicate that with DH;s sperm issues, ivf would make the most sense then i will give it a try. i just want to know that i did all that i can in the end of this.
sorry that was all about me...but back to you lol. Seriously, these confusions and ambiguous diagnosis make everything more confusing and scary. hang in there, you get it sorted out...and it sounds like you adn your husband can benefit from hime expressing his fears or thoughts about donor sperm or adoption. and the two of you can learn more about eachothers fears and insecurites this way. if my DH is so severe and ivf fails then i am going to consider donar sperm adn talk about it with him. i know that sometimes letting go of the grief of not having your own biological children is part of the process, learning what that grief means to him and to you...i sometimes worry that if we did donor sperm would my husband feel left out in the sense that he wouldn't look like his father etc...just things i think of. but it is about finding a sensitive way to approach the subject thus developing a deepening understanding of where eachother comes from and then helping eachother with those fears.

Im right there with you. DH count is VERY low. Are you guys seeing an RE?? Has he seen a urologist?? What insurance do you have?? We have Cigna and IF tx arent covered on the plan we have now but are covered on a diff plan. So this fall were switching to take effect 2010. There are a lot of options out there. Also multiple IUIs may cost what 1 IVF does and you may have a better chance doing that instead of like 5-6 IUIs.
