Hi waiting! Welcome. First, I would def keep up the IUI's....ya never know. Second, I know there are insurances out there that cover IVF. I dont know your work or insurance situation but you can do some research to find out which cover it and then see if its possible for you or your husband to get that insurance. I think Empire covers IVF because that is what I have. Other than that, I dont know anything else. Good luck!

i would keep trying iuis. ivf is a gamble even when you have good sperm and even a bigger gamble when you have male factor. i failed 4 ivfs and later conceived with donor sperm iui. it was my 9th iui because donor sperm does not always have good quality. I used to think that IVF would resolve all of our problems but it cost us a h*** of a lot of money with no success.

I would definetly recommend continuing IUI's. I just got my this month and my DH has a really low count and motility. With this IUI he actually had a lot more than usual (5.6 mil with 70% motility). He stopped drinking caffeine, started daily vitamins and GNC's Fertility Blend before this IUI. We also had intercourse 24 hours before. We were actually at our IVF counseling appointment when I told the doctor that I think my IUI worked and sure enough it did. I hope this gives you hope that anything is possible.

I had 6 IUI's, and we're now moving into IVF. My fertility doc said that the rates of IUI success decrease with each "failure"....he said that if it doesn't work after 3, it's probably time to try something else. This is just one doctor's opinion, and others may say differently! But, if I were to do it again, I would've stopped after 3 IUIs and gone into IVF sooner.

(We went to a different fertility clinic and different doctor after the 6 failed IUI's, which is why we didn't know to stop trying after 3!).

But again, it's different for everyone....I'd bet dollars to donuts that some women get pregnant after 10 or 12 IUIs!
