Desperate for help

Hi, I am looking for inexpensive but effefctive at home fertility tests. Before we go to the DR, we decided to take a test at home. I have been told i can find them at walgreens, but when I called to check they said they dont carry the test for men, just us women. We have been ttc for over a year now, and getting frustrated. I have irregular periods, and he thinks he is infertile now. So can anyone please tell me where I can buy a at home fertility test so I can prove to him that it's more than likely not him?

DH and I got a test from Walgreens. It is called Pre Conceive Plus Home Diagnostic Screening Male Fertility Test. That is what it says on the box. It is about 6 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. Purple on the bottom and white on the top with purple writing on the box. There is a website listed on the box: Find Pre~Seed in Stores Near You - Click Here DH did it and the results were normal and his SA with the dr came back normal too. It seems to be accurate as far as we know! I think it was about $30 but it beats the $100 for a SA in the lab, especially if you are just trying to get an idea! My DH was the same way... he thought it was him. We found out later it was my eggs, they weren't maturing. I too was having irregular periods. Obviously seeing an RE is a good idea but you probably already know that! Good luck to you!

*Edited to add- The link doesn't take you where I thought it would! It takes you to the Pre-Seed website. But the one on the box is PreConceivePlus with a www at the beginning and a .com afterwards. (I guess you have to outsmart the system!)

I did a search on the manufacturer (Lake Consumer Products) and I think that may be more helpful. You can see a picture of the box on their website and you can buy it online from their also.

I know that an SA is $100 or so typically, but unless that is outside your budget, it is so easy and will give you more information, reliable information (no guessing if it's accurate), than a home male fertility test. I got tested early, after only 6 months of TTC (for work reasons and close friends who had severe male factor infertility), and guess what---I've got severe male factor infertility. We are so glad we didn't wait for 1 or 2 years of TTC before doing one of the easiest, and comparatively cheapest, fertility tests--the SA.

And, if your home male fertility test is abnormal, you will certainly be getting a regular SA done at the lab anyway.

I hope everything works out!!

I bought an at home s/a for Dh a few years ago. I honestly can't remember where I bought it from but it was so confusing to me. I got done with the test after gagging from the smell of sperm the whole time (I have bad gag reflexes) and was furious because I couldn't decipher the results. Ugh!! I highly suggest going to your next regular ob/gyn appointment and asking them to order a s/a for your dh. If you have a lab close to you then your dh can do the "work" at home and then you can take it to the lab. As long as you get it there within I think 30 minutes is the limit. My dh was way to embarassed to do it in a doctors office so we did the "work" at home and I was able to "help" him. If I remember correctly the s/a was only $65 where we had it done. I called around to see who was the cheapest. I'm so glad I finally did because now we know that my dh has 50% of what he should have. I agree with what was said earlier. If your at home test is inconclusive you're gonna want to go get a real lab test done anyway. So might as well just save your money and get a real one done in my opinion. But whatever you choose, good luck and I hope the tests come out good!!!
