My Dh and I have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years now. We discoved last fall (after one year of testing and waiting for appointments) that the reason for his 0 sperm count was that he carried the CF gene. Because we are both in our early 30's we opted for surgery to repair the blockage rather than IVF. In January, he had surgery to repair the blockage. There is an 85% chance the surgery was successful, with conception 6-12 months thereafter. Has anyone ever experienced this? I want to give it 6 months and then try IVF, even though in Canada it is not covered. How long does the process take, once you confirm that this (IVF) is the route to go? It feels like life is so on hold. No major or expensive holidays, no using up too many vacations days, no large purchases, no upgrading our house. URRRGGG.
Thanks for listening T |

Sounds great that the surgery was a success. I hope that the next few months bring you a BFP. It can be hard having to save for treatment but look at it this way if you save and then get pregnant on your own you will have a great nest egg for your family. Good luck! Miranda
