SA Results
My husband just got the results of his second SA.
First Test: Total Count: 83.9 Count: 46.6 m/ml Motility: 87.6% Morphology: 20.9% Volume: 1.8 PH: 8.5 Viscosity: abnormal Second Test: Total Count:102.6 Count: 85.5 m/ml Motility: 52.7% Morphology: 12.5% Volume: 1.2 PH: 8.5 Viscosity: abnormal While we are pleased with the increase in total count, we're concerned with all the other numbers dropping. We're also concerned about the consistently low volume, the abnormal viscosity, and high PH. He was diagnosed last spring with a varicocele, but when the first test came back, his urologist said he wasn't concerned. Should we be concerned or am I overthinking this? This is our first cycle of injectables, and we are planning on doing timed intercourse, would an iui be better? Thanks |

Thanks for responding.
Last spring, just after the first SA, I got pregnant with 50mg of Clomid, and then miscarried at 10.5 weeks. The urologist told my husband at the time (before we knew I was pregnant) that his results were considered normal. We did not have the results in hand the way we do now, so we didn't get a chance to see the actual numbers. My husband has been taking Fertility Blend for the past 4 months or so, which may have something to do with his count going up significantly, which is good. My concern is with the morphology and a little less so with the motility. I don't ovulate on my own, but seem to respond well to meds. I ovulated two eggs each time on several cycles of 50 mg of Clomid, so now I am concerned that the main problem may not lie with me. It was hard enough having one of us with a problem, now with him possibly having morphology issues, I am concerned. |

We are now thinking that the morphology is based on the Krueger test, which makes us feel a little better. The lines on the test report do not make it clear, but we're pretty sure now.

We have the actual number, but under the morphology section, both the WHO and strict tests are both named, and his number seems to correspond to the strict, but we are going to ask the RE to review this anyway to be sure. It looks a little like this.
Morphology WHO 4 Strict 12.5 Also, my husband has been taking the Fertility Blend for the last 4 months. For the first two months, he was taking 3 a day, and the last two, two a day. His count in this last SA went up 40 million. So hopefully it will be beneficial to you. |
