I have a (high) volume problem - any help?

Hello,

Obviously - problems getting pregnant. 15 months trying thus far. We starting getting me tested 4 months ago - nothing for DW yet.

I have low concentration (SAs of 4 mil, 15 mil, and 12.5 mil) - but high volume (~6ml-~8ml).

For example, my total count on the recent SA was 74 mil, but with a volume of 6ml the concentration is 12.5 mil.

I also have slightly low testosterone, good motility, good morphology, and the genetic screen came back fine as well.

My urologist just put me on Clomid. I eat well, take daily (usana) vitamins of multivitamin, fish oil, CoQ10, glucosamine, and calcium, and fertility blend for men.

What, if anything, can I do to reduce my ejaculate volume? I've searched, and everyone (it seems) wants to increase their volume, not reduce it.

What, if anything, can we do to combat my high volume? That may sound silly, but would it help if DW stood on her head for 30 mins after sex? Again, sounds silly, but really - it seems if we could keep ejaculate in her it might have more of a chance? How long does it take for fertilization to occur if she is actually ovulating?

Please correct me if I'm off base.

Hello and welcome!

Your situation is very similar to my husbands, except I can’t get him to take the fish oil pills. Did your Dr suggest reducing the volume? My DH has more than double the “normal” range for volume in his SA but our DR conceders that a good thing. Standing on her head will not help, elevating her hips on a pillow or two after BD may help. I usually do for about 20-30 min at least.

The egg is usually fertilized 12-24 hours after it is released.
