My brother and his wife recently asked me to consider becoming a known donor for them, as my brother has a 0 sperm count. I'm honored and part of me would really like to help them, but I'm also unsure if I'd be able to look at the child as not mine. Any known donor bio-father/uncles out there who can tell me how they've handled this? And if you already have kids, like me, how you handled it with them? Thanks.

My best friend is our known donor. He tells me that he is thrilled to help. He gets the joy of watching this child grow and feel a special bond to him/her. Also, he said it was just genetic material like donating a kidney. After you donate it you don't ask for it back on the weekends. Same goes "for him" when it comes to our child. We all agreed that everyone invovled would know (child, grandparents) and that it just adds more ppl to love a kid and what could be wrong with that.
