PLs help very urgent and appreciated

hi people

i really need some advice, i recently got a semen analysis done and it came up as azoospermia, my doctor said to repeat. I wanted to ask how accurate is this test and can anything affect its reliability. Iv got a home microscope and i can see sperm at 300x like little black tadpoles. SO i am very confused as to what i am seeing and semen analysis. Pls advise from past experiences if this has ever happened. i noticed on the doctors report that it said NO sperm in spun specimen.. thanks

Think of an SA as a moment in time. From a statistical perspective the more samples you have (and the quality of samples) will give you a better picture as to what is or isn't going on.

I've had multiple SA's over the past year, some showed very low counts and some showed low normal counts. Just get your diet right, be taking the right supplements, think positive, and hope for the best.

Keep your chin up!

KS has it right, never trust one, my first was crap, probably because I was freaked out, the rest were normal.

I believe they use an electron microscope, or at least something a bit stronger than 300. They have to measure everything from movement speed to shapes. I also suspect they use a computer software for analysis but I never confirmed this.

They will take a percentile of the sample for measurement and then calculate the results for the whole set on that sample. It is usually a percentile of the whole which has been proven to have a solid correlation to the mass.
