Hi Ladies... and Gentlemen
Um- I'm kind of freaking out here. I just got a call from husband who tells me that the SA came back with 0 count. I know how depressed he gets over this so I tried to assure him about we have other options (adoption) and how it isn't the end of the world. I really didn't want to freak over the phone with him because I knew that would make him feel worse.

Here's the background: When he was a child he had one undescended testicle. He took shots as a child to bring it down, but by then I think it was too late because he spent most of his adult life struggling with low testosterone. Ok fast forward to his 30s, he started supplementing himself with testosterone in the form of shots and gel. But before that he saved 10 vials of frozen sperm in 2001, which we haven't tapped into yet. We don't know the quality of the sperm in those vials. We will do a test thaw. Needless to say that, the shots/gel really did a number on those testicles because we are having the hardest bringing up that sperm count.

First it was the HCG shots, which was working so that there 1 million sperm count in August last year. Then it just dropped to the thousands with only 10 or 11 motile sperm. I mean it was like finding a needle in a haystack for the IVF cycles. Then just last month he found he had a 0 sperm count even with HCG shots. Ok -he went for 10 days not taking the shots because of HCG shortage, but 0? So he decided to try clomid for month and here we are. He is also doing accupuncture and taking supplements. I'm kind of hoping he'll agree to take HCG and clomid at the same time, but I don't want to push it. I'm not sure if we will MESA or TESA.

I'm reaching to you guys for support. Any words of wisdom? Any tips? Any cutting edge techniques out there? Any top notch doctors that deal with this kind of stuff?
