We finally found out yesterday that we are having a little girl.
Her name is going to be Kerrin Michelle.

I picked out the first name and DH picked out her middle name...I think they go well together.

I've never really thought much about girl's names...but lately I'm convinced that if we do get pregnant we're going to have a girl (I think it might be all the wishfull thinking from my extended family, who has so far been blessed with three baby boys in the past year...)
I'm really hung up on the name Rowan Lynn right now... Rowan is the name of a character in a book I'm reading, and I really like it... and Lynn is the middle name my DW had when she was born (she's adopted and her parents changed her name).

We've been talking about baby names for years now and I'm so excited and just praying we will get to use one of these!!!

If it's a girl the name will probably be Charlotte Grace. If it's a boy - Lucas John. But...things change, so you never know what my preggo brain will come up with!

Crystal I love Rowen! What a great name!

We've got our girl name (came to me in a dream many years ago...I know, kinda wing-nutty). The first name would be Marleigh (not set on the spelling. could be: marlee, marlie, marli, or marley). I'm thinking of Clair for the middle name. I like the old fashioned names (like Sophie, Claudia, or Opal). I really love Lilah too, but Marleigh and Lilah don't go well together.

DH and I can't come together on any boy names really. I know we've got plenty of time, but he shoots down everything I think of. I really like Lucas, he hates it. My new name that I really like is Riley. DH says he doesn't "dispise" it, maybe that's progress. Right now he can also stand the sound of: Dalton, Drew, or Daniel (it is a coincidence that they're all D names). He doesn't love any of those names, he just doesn't hate them. He's really driving me nuts right now. Any suggestions?

I really like the name Marleigh....it's pretty, but uncommon...great pick! Marleigh Claire is a really nice combo...

Boy's names...I don't know...I like pretty traditional boy's names for the most part. I love Lucas (probably because I have a cutest-ever little nephew named Lucas...lots of cute nicknames there, too). I like things like Nathan, Mathew, Daniel, Michael...although Jackson and Aidan are ones I like too, and DW doesn't hate any of those. I think we're going to have a tough time picking a boy name if we need to. We both LOVE Rowan Lynn, so there's no argument there.

I'm with you Crystal as far as boy names go...I lean toward the traditional too, but DH just shoots them down.

If you and DW have a girl, she'll be someone very important. With a name like Rowen, she's bound to be something like a famous singer, international news reporter, author...something...I think names have a lot to with success in life.

Funny...I was thinking that Marleigh has the same kind of "feel" to it as Rowan, which is probably why I like it...if I didn't like Rowan so much, I'd probably steal it!!! Yeah, I think Rowan is a strong, beautiful name...with lots of potential! You know, I'll probably be just a TAD disappointed if we don't get a girl, only because I won't get to use the name! (But I'll be deleriously happy as long as we get one healthy, happy kiddo, whatever gender s/he happens to be)

Crystal ~ you're so funny...thanks for saying that about our name, that's sweet. It is really strange b/c years ago when my future daughter came to me in a dream I would never have guessed that I would hear the name Marlie (I think this is the spelling I'm liking the best right now) anywhere...then all of a sudden in the last few weeks there's been a 2. One is a deaf actress named Marlee Matlin who is on a show called "Dancing with the Stars" (I know you're in Canada so I'm not sure if you're familiar with these shows) and the other was a little girl on a "Supernanny" (Marli). It is so funny b/c I can't help but feel like this is a sign that it is my turn. I don't think it will ever become as common as Melissa, so we'll be fine.

Are you and DW planning to find out before delivery? We are, there's no way I can wait to find out (plus it makes planning so much easier).

Junebug ~ That is so funny. Here I was thinking years ago that I was orginal I'm a huge Bob Marley fan, so I think subconsciously that might be where the dream came from...dunno.

No, DH has nothing to offer. All he does is shoot names I suggest down. I really like Riley for a boy and he doesn't hate it so I guess if he grows to like that one over the course of the pregnancy then we might go with it. It is so aggravating, but I also know we've got plenty of time.

I'm leaning towards Leighton for a boy and Olivia for a girl. With twins, maybe I will get to use both.

DH and I decided on our name for a girl a couple years ago: Adrianna Lakhari. DH wanted to go with Adrena Ann for the baby his mother lost that she was convinced would have been a girl (it was ectopic so they don't know for sure). I hate the name.. but if you kinda stick Ann in the middle of Adrena, you can mush it into Adrianna. Lakhari is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning honeysuckle blossom. I came across it somewhere and liked it, but I thought DH would hate it. I'm not sure what made me mention it, but he liked it too

Boys' names are really difficult for us. DH wants to use James Larry III, but that was vetoed long ago. So then he suggested James for a first name and another L name for a middle name so the baby would at least have the same initials. There are very few decent L names though and none of them really work with our last name. Finally, a couple weeks ago, we decided on William James. William is my father's name and James is DH's, FIL's and DH's grandfather's name. We intend to call him Will. For a 2nd boy I would like to figure out some way to honor both of my grandfathers: Chester Theodore and Eric Charles. I was thinking maybe Charles Theodore and calling him Charlie. I'd like to be able to honor DH's other grandfather too and since we'll probably only have 2 kids (God willing) a 2nd boy might end up with 2 middle names.
