When I was in college I lived next door to a girl whose name was Cherry and her middle name was Blossom...I thought that was pretty wierd...Oh and I have a friend that is a public health nurse and she helped a couple who had seven kids and they ran out of names they liked so their last one they actually named Seven....

I keep telling my DH that since our last name is Rodgers we could have a Buck, Ginger and Fred...my FIL actually is a teacher and LOVES to be called Mr. Rodgers (that is what he dresses as for Halloween)

You gals are totally making this thread rock! We need some good humor in our preggo state!

I LOVE Harry Bahls!!!!!! ROFL!

I got the name Dorkus from FIL's distant cousin. She's married to a man named Dopey. He was named after one of the dwarfs from Snow White. Can you imagine?

Dorkus and Dopey!

You know what they say, real life is so much stranger than fiction!

This isn't a weird name, but I know a William Williams. Are people that unimaginative? As a kid, the guy who lived next door was Richard Head, and we all know what Richard shortens to be! Seriously- I couldn't make this up! Don't people say these names out loud before the baby comes and hear how silly they sound?

Along the Harry Bahls line...I knew a guy named Harry Colon...ewww!!

The funniest name I ever heard- I used to work in a hospital in the Chinatown section of Boston. Saw a guy there named Phat Ho!! The best part was that he didn't speak a work of English, so he had NO IDEA!!

HA HA ! This is great. I am a teacher and one of the districts where I sub (because Ohio has no openings) there were twin boys named Orangelo and Lemangelo (Orange Jello and Lemon Jello). Now I think that takes the cake or should I say Jello.

P.S. Stephanie I would also name my baby Dorkus for a million dollars (a million dollars will accrue a lot of interest over 18 years in a high yield savings account and when Dorkus graduates we will split it!) , my Dh has some pretty wild names picked out anyway!

If you named your child Dorkus, you would need the million dollars plus interest for the therapy bills!

I would caution any of you to stay away from naming your child after a month. I grew up with a girl named April, and when we were together people always asked "where's May?"...recently I lived next to a girl named Spring and everyone commented on our names. It was so annoying!

I used to live in range of a radio station that had a"bad baby name of the day" segment every day. Heard lots of sadly hilarious names but the one that is sticking out most now is "Pampers Supreme"-- poor kid.

Also i once met a Harry Beaver.

My sister had a friend in college named Crystal Shanda Lear and a coworker was friends with a girl in high school named Annie Christ. She tried to go by Ann and change the pronunciation of her last name (so that it rhymes with mist) but it didn't work.

And Dorkus actually means graceful.. so it's not completely as bad as it sounds.. but I still wouldn't bestow it upon my daughter.
