Dorkus is so funny...I actually know (well not really know) a person named Dorcus (pronounced Dork - Us). She was the lady the founded my sorority back in the early 1900s!!!! So people do name their kids these horrible names!!!

How about "Ima Hooker" or "Mary A. Belcher"...no kidding!

Let's see....I worked with a Dorkus, she went by Dorkus.

My FIL's name was Tom Thomas.

A girl I went to school with was named Octavia Shingles, she was beautiful!

I have an Aunt Cookie Cutter...she loves her name and also would not change to her married name.

I also have an Aunt Mary Merry....but Merry is her married name, ha!

And, sure, I'd take a million for any name cuz you can call your kid whatever name you want, even a middle name...it's just a name! A million would make nice on college, yes?

When I worked at the dentist's office we got all kinds of funny names coming through.........we had twins boy patients and their names were Owen Yeah and Oliver Yeah.( All over ya) We even had a John Doe! Why would you name your kid John if your last name was Doe? Duh!

I would NEVER name my daughter Jeska. That's my name and for my whole life, I've been known as Jessica and it drives me crazy! There's no "I" in my name! I am going to do a relatively normal name for my child so they don't have to endure, "How do you spell it... It's not Jessica???... Well that's different." It makes me nuts! Not only that, my middle name is Cheyenne and my maiden name was pronounced "War" but definately not spelled like that. I think my parents hated me and wanted me to answer everybody how to spell my first, middle, and last name, grr!

I would never name my child after my great grandma Dagmar. (Yes, that was really her name)

I was thinking the other day about other family names to use. I like Marilyn Ruth after my godmother and grandmother, then we could call her Mary for short like my other grandmother. For a boy, Raymond is on both my side and DH side, but for a middle name, and the Joseph for the first name after my grandpa. Then I realized I'd be naming my kids Mary and Joseph. That just won't do.

I understand some woman want to name there kids something different but why cruel names?

I was a little fun with my kids name I loved barbies when I was kid.
So I named my first dd after me and I nicknamed her Barbie and then if you know about the dolls she had a sister named kelly. So I named my next dd kelly.
Then I was going to name my next dd stacey, barbies littiest sister but my mil passed away and I named my dd samantha after her. But I would have named her stacey.
So I would have had named all my kids after a Barbie Doll familiy...Barbie,kelly & stacey....lol...

I did go to school with a girl named RAINBOW HARVEST. she actually did some movies too. What were here parents thinkng?
