I am changing my mind...I think.

So, after years of being dead set on Kyra for a girl's name, I have been really thinking about Kerrin over the past few days.

I always thought that I would never be one of those people who change their name after they get pregnant...but I am really liking Kerrin right now.

DH is probably going to wring my neck! Maybe I should find out the sex before I spring my indecisiveness on him.

LOL - sounds to me like you are in trouble, June - you have 224 days left to change your mind!!!

Hey, you are a woman - it's your perogative to change your mind as often as you want to!

On that note, I am going to be of no help because I like both Kyra and Kerrin - very nice! Good luck!

June, I did the same thing. We have had our names set in stone for all the four and a half years of trying. They were all going to start with a J since we are Jen and Josh. I even named the one we lost Jordan to keep with the plan. However, once we got pregnant and it was viable I told DH I'd let him name the baby. We pulled out our list of J names and he asked if I liked any names that didn't start with a J. Of course! So we too changed our names even after never thinking we would and I happen to like these new names better as well as their meanings, they just fit better for this blessing in our lives.

I completely understand but have no vote either way, they are both beautiful names for a little girl.

My DH kept insisting we wait to meet our little boy before naming him but I am a big planner. I thought we had our names narrowed down and would compromise to settle on one after our 4D ultrasound. Now everything we had is out the window and we are starting over with names. The 4D didn't help and I finally caved and will wait until after I see him in person to see what his name should be.

I suppose it runs in the family my nephew went through 3 names before his birth certificate was signed. It's an important decision. Take your time in making it knowing you have the right to change your mind as often as you like.

amsa-LOVE the 4D ultrasound picture! So cool!!

I actually did bring it up with dh last night (couldn't wait) and he said he likes Kerrin alot. Hope I don't change my mind again! But, my BFF's name is Kerry- so, I am also playing around with Kerryn.

Ann Marie- I am still firmly set on Brendan

Jen- dh and I are both J's, too (June and Jim). Don't even tempt me to get into J names...I'll never get my mind made up!

I love the Kyra. I have a lot of friends who are Karen with different spellings of Kerrin, Karin, Karren. If you and dh like both of the names, what about comprimising between the two names and make it Kiera. I love that name too.
And I agree, you have the right to change your mind as many times as you would like...it's a hormonal thing too, guys just don't understand! Plus, you have a lot of time to do so.
Good luck!

I'll tell you, once we found out the sex, the name had pretty much been set in stone (P after HB, B after my brother, D after DH's brother) - and that was the tiniest bit of a letdown for me. Half the fun was in PICKING the name and all the possibilities. But I got over it fast when I realized that PBD was in there and we all started calling him that. For me, there was no two ways about it - I had to know the sex. Sort of brought another "wow, we really are pg" aspect to the whole thing. One of my best friends, on the other hand, tried for 10 years and when she finally did get pg, she said, "we waited this long, what's 9 more months? we'll be surprised". Argh - I wanted to know what she was having more than she did, lol!

As far as finding out the sex- I don't feel the need to be surprised. I want to know. I will be surprised at the ultrasound.

That's what I always said to people who said that to us ~

them: "Don't you want to be surprised?"

me: "Don't you think we will be/were at the u/s?"

them: "it's not the same"

me: "you're right - my way is better!!"

LOL - not saying that it is or it isn't - just that it is a personal choice and WHATEVER!!!!

To me I think every part of pregnancy is a wonderful surprise. I always thought I'd have this different feeling, you know "feel pregnant" but I didn't. To feel the baby move is such a surprise and a joy. To see the baby grow on an ultrasound is always a surprise. To see that baby when it's born will be the greatest surprise of all. That's when you'll see who that little person looks like, how big/small he/she is, etc. The gender is something that we want to find out because it helps us bond and relate to that child, not to mention plan for their arrival. But if he/she doesn't cooperate this second time then indeed we will find out the surprise at birth. But we really are dying to know.

Jen- I hear you on the not feeling pregnant thing...aside from the nausea and lack of energy, I'd never know. Sometimes people ask me how I am feeling and I think to myself "Oh yeah, I am pregnant."

I wonder what "feeling pregnant" feels like?!?!
