Middle names for Kate or Jake...

Anyone got ideas for middle names for either Kate or Jake? I like the idea of giving a child the name they are going to be called (instead of Katherine or Jacob). It's just difficult choosing a middle name that "flows" with a simple, one-syllable first name. I don't like anything too trendy or "out there". I really like fairly traditional names (like Kate and Jake:-).

Any thoughts???

Oh, and our last name begins with "M", so no "M" middle names...

Hey, there is nothing wrong with Jacob...just kidding!! My oldest is Jacob and we do call him Jacob. His middle name is Paul (after my dad). We like it and it flows nicely. I agree, it is difficult to find a middle name with a one-syllable first name.
What about Jake Andrew or Jake Thomas. And Kate Isabella or Kate Olivia.

Goodluck on the baby naming...that is one of the fun parts of expecting!

MaggieMoo,
We actually have talked about Jake Thomas...I'd forgotten about that! I've also kind've thought we may just go with Katherine for the sake of finding a middle name to go with it.

We have some friends who just named their baby boy Joe, instead of Joseph, because they knew they wouldn't ever call him that. I like the idea because it simplifies things as well.

Well I have a niece that is named Kate and her middle name is Elise but they also were thinking about Rose or Lucille (that one is a family name)...

As for Jake - I have a nephew named Jack (not Jackson) and his middle name is Francis....

What about Allison or Allyson for Kate? If I have a girl, I'm thinking of that for a middle name. (It's a family name, too.) The first name would be Blythe, which is also a family name.

Kathryn (not Kate)

Oh, I love the name Alison. That is what we were going to name our baby if it was a girl but he was a boy! Alison would have been after my dh's Oma. Her name is Alice. Maybe next time...if there will be a next time.

I'm a Katie Jane, although if you're going with a one syllable first name, you probably want at least 2 syllables for the middle name for a better flow.

What about using your first name as Kate's middle and hb's first as Jake's middle?
