Anybody have any they'd like to share during this journey to parenthood?

I have a good one.

I was VERY constipated after egg retrieval and my mother-in-law told me to drink warm prune juice. Ladies...it worked. It was major ugh...but it worked like a charm!

to "cure" hiccups...
put a paper towel tightly over the top of a glass of water. Be sure to hold taught... drink the water through the paper towel.

This has worked for me 70% of the times I've tried it!

Oh! I had a bunch of TTC wives tales but I can't find them! Let's see if I can remember some:

If you are TTC, sleep with the diaper of a friend's newborn under your bed. (it didn't mention new or used!)

There was one something about if a woman baked a cake and the top falls in it means she is pregnant???

Heartburn during pregnancy means your baby will be born with a lot of hair.

Anyone who denies a pregnant woman the food that she craves will get a sty in his eye.

Hang a gold wedding ring on a thread above the mother's stomach. If the ring swings back and forth, the baby is a girl. If the ring moves in circles, the baby is a boy.

Sitting on a dirty toilet seat can make you pregnant. (HA! if that were true we'd probably all be pregnant!)

If the hair on your legs is growing faster during pregnancy, it's a boy.



And I must I once wondered that if a new mother threw here newborn in to a crowd of TTC women, would the one who caught the baby be the next to get pregnant? (No, I've never met a new mom willing to try, but hey, I asked...)



Non TTC / pregnancy wives tales:

It is said that if a woman's second toe is longer than her big one, she will wear the trousers in any marriage she makes.

Fart free wherever you may be, for not farting was the death of poor Mary Lee.

The long toe thing: totally true. You gotta go to my third toe 'til it is even w/ the big and ask DH who runs the show 'round these parts. He, my Dad and my brother have never had a chance. My brother says he checked his now-wife's toes before getting serious!
