I was watching one of the night time TV news like primetime or 48 hours, cannot remember which one. But they were talking about that in certain cities in the country when people get into bad car accidents or need blood they are using synthetic blood on them. Here is the kicker, the only way that you can exempt yourself from this "experiment" is by wearing a blue braclet that says something like No to (the drug name). Daggone, I wish I could remember more to it.
I was just so appauled that the government approved this type of experiment and that all the drug company had to do was hold a public meeting, when the news company researched it only 6 people showed up in one town, and those 6 people were not told the whole truth.
Apparently this same drug company had tried this synthetic blood before and people died, but now they are certain that they have gotten it right.
One hospital in New England refused to be part of the study because they felt it was wrong to use synthetic blood on a person without their knowledge of it.

Monica, this is one article I found but it was like done in 1997, however, it was basically stating the same thing. I'm still searching for the exact one I saw.
