favorite book?

All,

I am so excited… we are finally going on vacation and have a 13 hour drive ahead of us. I would like to ask you for a book recommendation… either tell me your favorite book or a book that you think everyone should’ve read.

I have a couple favorite books. First one is "When the Cradle is Empty" which is a book on understanding infertility and the emotions attached. I posted this under the books thread when I first got on this site.

I also books by Nicholas Sparks and Max Lucado.

Enjoy your vacation!

I am just finishing up "A Few Good Eggs" which is really good and about infertility. Also, anything by Kathy Reichs, Jennifer Weiner or James Patterson makes for great easy vacation reading. Have a great vacation.

What she said. I prefer Weiner to Green if I had to choose I think. Green's last two were kinda blah to me.

The Art of Mending: A Novel
by Elizabeth Berg

This is the last non-infertility or pregnancy book I read. It was good. I cared for the characters.

some may hem and haw, but I am a Danielle Steele fan-- And of course Stephen King

But you know this may sound a bit kiddy, my LH and I love doing Mad Libs when we are going on a long trip, and he loves when I just make up games, or read to him (since he is usually driving)

Another idea is a book on tape or CD that you both enjoy

A fantastic, light-hearted read that you should check out is The Sex Lives of Cannibals by J. Maarten Troost (I think that is his last name.)

It is a great adventure comedy about his years spent living on a remote island in the Pacific. I laughed so hard I cried through the entire thing.

It is definitely a good book for taking your mind off IF!

may be to late, but ANYTHING by Patricia Cornwell is Great!!! They should be read in order however or it can be confussing! I got her last one at Borders, started to read in the car as Dh was driving home, read all afternoon on a Sunday, stood at the stove reading and cooking, and read all night. I finnished the book that day about 350 pages. Then I get really mad when the book is over! I have read them over and over!!!
