I'm addicted to the news too! It's a terrible thing! Sometimes it can be so depressing. I just feel the need to know what's going on in my neighborhood and world.

As far as politics..............Amy I'm with you, my dh is into enough for both of us as well! He keeps me up-to-date!

Still quiet, but I will say if anyone has the chance to listen to Glenn Beck on the radio you'll at least be laughing your butt off and getting the news in a very unusual way. If you go to his website (3rd most listened to show in the country) you can get your local affiliate call letters and number. He also has a cable news show (don't like nearly as much) on CNN Headline News at 7, 9 eastern time.

You all know that I'm a news/talk radio nut-job. Nuff said.

I agree the world is beginning to look worse day by day. I watch the news only because that is the reality for me, I cant run away from it. I wish with all the modern medicine and technology we would be happier and helpful to each other. But, I guess we are filled with ego and competition. Everyday so many innocent people are killed. Yesterday, when that plane crashed in NY, I held my breath, I cant take anymore people dying.

Just on Sunday, I got the news that one of my ex-colleague is diagnoised with luekeamia, only 25 years old. What has she seen in this world, now she will be going thru 6 months of chemo. I know her whole family, especially her mother so well, she worked with us too. Can a mother ever see her child suffering, but she has to be strong for her girl.

There are some inevitable sufferings and then there are man made killings, how insane. I wish the world leaders get wiser. Do we really need a hollocaust in every decade?

He's totally corny.

He has common sense about issues that you don't get on talk radio or tv.

He is a wonderful family man, father, husband (far as I can tell).

He tells it like he sees it.

Is very faithful to his religion.

VERY FUNNY!

Down to earth.

Tells amazing stories/monologues (especially on stage).

Oh, did I leave out that he's a conservative?
But not neccessarily a Republican. He's for "right and wrong", not "left vs. right".

He's obviously not for everyone (no one is). I just feel like he discusses the top stories but with an absolutly hysterical sense of humor (he's been much more "the end of the world is coming" lately but even makes fun of that).

I kinda feel like I'm the female version of him. Eek.

I am a total freak!

I'm thrilled that you're going to give it a chance. Listen (if you can) to a little bit every day for like a week so you can get a good feel for his style/personality. I just don't want you to get turned off if he's on a rant or whatever.

Hope you don't end up feeling like it was a waste of time.
