Okay, so I know that my little SIL is the most spoiled rotten little brat there is, but I think she has taken it to a new level. First of all my dh was talking about how when he went over to his friend's parent's home (the one that just passed away) his father asked if dh wanted anything. He was saying how uncomfortable he was when she said that she would've asked for it all because he doesn't need it anymore. Insensitive! Then, dh just got a new bike and his father cosigned on it since I just got my job they wouldn't be able to use me as a cosigner. Well, SIL got ticked about that saying that she needs a new truck (she isn't getting one until she graduates in 2 years anyways) and that she hopes that he wrecks it and hurts himself bad so that she can have it when he dies!!! I mean, really! Who in the heck says that?!?! Especially considering that he just had a friend pass away?!?! I have never in my life met anyone so selfish and bratty. Oh, and she called dh at work to cry and hang up on him today. So I called her because it really upset him, and he doesn't need her crap right now...well, she hung up on me too. So I called her back and told her that when she wants to be an adult and talk without hanging up on people she can come and see us to apologize and until then she won't be seeing us again.

What would you guys do in that situation? I really don't think I am being to rough on her, but do you think I am?

Hmmm our SILs sound like two of a kind! While she was living in her nice brand spankin new house, we were living in a mouse infested house! Then when FIL co-signed, she had a hissy fit as well! I don't know why, but she did! (her mommy and daddy are loaded, mine aren't even close!)

Those types are the worst! And I think you handled her perfectly! I hope she grows up and realizes how hurtful and irrational she is being!

Stephanie, my goodness. Your SIL does sound like a spoiled, rotten little brat. How can she be so insensitive and expect so much out of others. I hate those who think their needs need to be catered to by other people instead of doing it yourself. My in-laws are like that too in certain areas of life and it just makes my skin crawl sometimes. I think you calling back and telling her that when she straightens up and starts acting like an adult (complete with an apology) she knows where you are was a good move. Don't let her get to you guys, she's not worth it right now.

Wow I thought I had the only bad SIL....ours got mad at my DH (not really sure why) but when she does this (she has a history with everyone and it was just our turn we think) we informed my MIL and FIL that we would not attend any family functions until she could be civil....we held out for almost a year when she finally started acting civil to us (not sure why then either) She left us a message at one point to let me know she was pregnant and was waiting to hear from us the same news and wondered when it would happen (she new we were having IF issues) It worked out well for us to wait on her....we didn't have to deal with her for almost a year and then now that we do it is only at family stuff and she can be civil again....and if the time comes again where she is mad at us then our house will be peaceful again.....
