I heard on a talk channel I listen to the other day that Nancy Grace off CNN (I think), just went through IVF and is now pg with twins.

Yes, I did not hear the IVF part, but she is having twins (I thought she said she was 47 yrs old)

When I heard she was pg with twins, and that her age was 48, I assumed that it was IVF.

Yeah the station I mention straight out and said that she did IVF.

It is an Epidemic .. honestly. Before I was going through IVF I rarely ever heard of it. And now that I'm included it seems like IVF talk and paitents are everywhere. My mom even noticed it more than ever .. Best of luck to us all. Hugs!

i've noticed that too... we even have a huge billboard along Interstate 77 advertising "Affordable IVF"...

Speaking of fact vs fiction....I was reading that book "Smashed", and the author quoted some source that there is a link between teenage binge drinking and reproductive difficulties in later years.
Has anyone ever heard of this?? I hadn't either- but did a little research and found and study that was actaully written by my soon to be old RE.

"Alcohol use is associated with altered levels of estrogen and progesterone and irregularities in the menstrual cycles and ovulation, but it is unclear how the volume of alcohol consumed will affect fertility.4,5 However, there is increasing appreciation that such lifestyle choices can have a significant and cumulative effect on fecundability (or the ability to become pregnant in a single menstrual cycle).6,7."

Had I known this during my 4 years of college and 2 years of grad school, I would have spent alot more time studying in the library!!

I hadn't heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me. It could be me, but it seems like now a days, it seems like almost anything can be directly or indirectly linked to IF issues or worse.
(if we sneezed outside in the rain when we were a kid and forgot to wipe our nose, could have lead to infertility)

I had heard that she recently married and is expecting twins but I didn't hear that it was via IVF. WOW. I will say that something else caught my eye last week. I was finally home for a full week and caught up on some tv time. I saw this commercial a few times about infertility. It's through Clarian Health Partners and the website they advertise is acalltochange.org. I was on the phone with DH and shocked to finally see some acknowledgement of infertility on a commercial.

Now that is shocking and exciting to finally see something on tv acknowledging IF. I wish I could have seen that.
