Heart Army Wives ... You see it?

Has anyone watched the new show called "Army Wives" on Lifetime? Well I seen one episode and now I'm HOOKED. It is set on DVR and everything. It is a really good show. Not too realistic but it is a nice
"try" in reinacting the military wives way of life. Just thought I'd see if anyone else is hooked to this show.
Happy Hump Day ... Friday is almost here. Hugs!

I LOVE this show! I'm completely addicted to. Even if it's a rerun on Friday or Monday I watch it. I love the cast, the way they have come together and the stories they share. I have no idea what it's like to be a military spouse living on base and dealing with deployments but this show has given me a glimpse of what I would think it would be. I do have a friend who has a husband in the Army who is in NJ about to be deployed for the second time to Iraq and she watched the first episode and absolutely won't watch it again. Don't know if it's the reality of the emotions she's feeling or what. But I just love love love Army Wives.

I also started watching the show and love it. The relationships that they have with each other are so real. The writing is great on the show.

Well I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only one who is an addict. However Jen, I can see somewhat why your friend will not watch it again. The show is a great audience grabber BUT if you live the military you know that it is such a fictional show. In the military there is rank structure and that line is not crossed ... ever. You have officers and then the enlisted folks. The two in real life are like oil and vinegar; you just don’t mix, other than working together for work issues ONLY. It is actually against our codes, so call it illegal if you will. Oh another note, the wives of the enlisted surely would never end up hanging out with the wives of the officers i.e. Majors and Colonels. So to someone who lives the life, they know that it is just unrealistic but yeah, if I didn’t know any better I’d think that is how it is. With that being sad, I still love it and even though I know first hand that it is only a TV show and nothing like everyday life ... I’m Hooked!

So, do you think that the son is really going to join the Army? I really do, we shall see though. I love the storyline about the wife being in the hospital for post traumatic stress disorder, I can’t wait to see what happens when she comes back, and how is their marriage is going to be?
Sorry if I’m spoiling it for someone …. J Hugs!

Uh, addicted here. Though, I do think the only reason I CAN watch it is because we have less than two weeks before we are done with the Army life and thus I will no longer be an Army wife. Some of it is emotionally intense. I cry every episode.

That said, I think he's joining. Did you see how upset his Mom was when he showed up at the girlfriend's house and asked where he was and she said she couldn't say? Yeah. Army.

Devan, my friend and her husband don't live on a base or anything of the sort. He's with the Army Reserve and so their life has been pretty easy in terms of the military responsibility. He helps from time to time with recruiting but other than that it's the one weekend a month two weeks a year kind of deal. But he did get deployed to Iraq just two weeks after they were married and was home for a year now he's going back. I think it's just the fear of seeing thing happen on the show that can happen in real life that she doesn't want to face. I don't blame her, I'd be a mess too.

Anyway, I think he's joining the Army. I think it's going to be a nice twist. Is this to please or make his dad proud? Trying to get forgiveness that he can be disciplined and that he's sorry or is it for a place to stay and belong? I was more caught off guard with the prelude to Amanda and Jeremy having sex! Talk about moving fast! But I absolutely love the show, it holds me to the end every time and then I'm begging for more. As though it should be a marathon that goes on for hours not just one hour one night a week.

I also think he's going to the join the army. Otherwise where would he go all his friends are on the army base so he can't go crash there. It's his way of moving on with his life I think.

I think he might join the army and then end up having his dad be in charge of him...Not sure, but I know that I love that show....it is a show that I DVR and I don't fast forward through the boring parts. I actually like all the characters...I just caught up last night (since grey's isn't on yet on Thursdays) with Sunday's episode. I can't wait for the next episode!!!

My husband and I are hooked. We love this show. I cry at almost every episode.
I think he joins the army too. But I think he gets deployed and his dad has to save him over there.
