Self Torture!

So who else out there tortures themselves like I do?

July is baby month on the Discovery Health network. They are playing tons of shows on babies. House of Tiny Terrors, Life's birth Stores, Oh Baby, the baby whisperer, Adoption Story just to name a few. I am so addicted to this channel. I can't stop myself from watching. I love these shows and they usually don't affect me, but once in a while I feel it.

Anyone else?

Well we don't have cable or satellite anymore, but I can tell you I used to be seriously addicted to all of these shows. Dh would come home from work and get so upset with me.... I would watch them for hours, switching from channel to channel. Well when we decided to do our first IVF, we had to cut out some "unnecessary" things in our life and of course, the cable was the first to go. I miss those shows!!!!! And yes... it's kinda torture, but it's sooooo amazing to watch at the same time!

I tortured myself with songs, specifically "You'll Be Blessed" by Elton John. I listened to it all the time and would cry and cry.

On some levels, it's self-mutilation, but I think it's also kind of cathartic. Sometimes a good cry really helps, ya know?

Sandy - you are so not alone in this form of torture - i try to watch when I can - DH isn't into those kinds of shows - and there are times in my cycle when I can't watch at all......but there are times that I get so absorbed in "Baby Month" it's pitiful!
